Analyst-Risk Management (KYC Operations-Quality Assurance)
The Analyst, KYC Operations Quality Assurance (QA) is part of the Global Merchant Operations team within the Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) business unit. The Global Merchant Operations team partners across the business to enable trusted and frictionless merchant experiences by delivering resilient, compliant, and efficient operational processes that safeguard our network, reduce operational and financial crimes risk, and power-sustainable growth.
The Analyst will deliver independent, risk-based Quality Assurance across KYC Operations and KYC programs by executing assurance reviews, identifying control weaknesses, analyzing quality trends, and supporting continuous improvement to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies and operational standards.
The Analyst, KYC Operations - Quality Assurance will be responsible for:
Executing independent, risk-based Quality Assurance reviews and sampling activities across KYC Operations, assessing CDD, ADD and pre-EDD processes for compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, procedures and control standards.
Reviewing customer due diligence, risk assessments and supporting documentation to ensure decisions are appropriately evidenced and that Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) has been triggered where required.
Documenting QA outcomes, identifying defects, control gaps, process weaknesses and regulatory risks, and escalating findings in accordance with established governance procedures.
Analysing QA results and operational data to identify trends, emerging risks, root causes and opportunities to strengthen controls and improve quality outcomes.
Preparing QA reporting, dashboards and management information to support governance, operational oversight and informed decision-making.
Supporting remediation activities by tracking findings, validating corrective actions and confirming the effective resolution of quality issues.
Partnering with Global Servicing, Compliance, Risk and other stakeholders to investigate findings, resolve quality issues and drive continuous process improvement.
Maintaining QA documentation, review criteria, evidence repositories and audit trails, while supporting enhancements to QA procedures, checklists and methodologies to reflect policy, regulatory and business changes.
Participating in QA calibration sessions, thematic reviews, audits, regulatory requests and special projects to promote consistency and continuous improvement.
Maintaining a strong understanding of UK and international AML, KYC and Financial Crime regulatory requirements and industry best practices to support the effective execution of QA activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
2–4 years of relevant experience in Financial Crime Compliance, Quality Assurance, Operational Risk Management, or a related function within financial services.
Strong working knowledge of AML, KYC, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and Financial Crime regulatory requirements across the UK and international jurisdictions.
Knowledge of UK Money Laundering Regulations, FCA expectations, FATF guidance and international AML regulatory requirements.
Experience supporting merchant services, including merchant onboarding, refresh, Additional Due Diligence (ADD), and ongoing KYC processes.
Experience performing independent Quality Assurance or Quality Control reviews within Financial Crimes.
Experience reviewing customer files against policy and regulatory requirements, identifying control gaps, documenting findings, and providing evidence-based recommendations.
Experience applying risk-based sampling methodologies, executing QA reviews, identifying trends, and supporting remediation activities.
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and reporting tools, with the ability to analyze data and produce meaningful management information.
Professional AML qualification (e.g., ICA, ACAMS) preferred or a willingness to obtain one.
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple stakeholders while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
