Job Description
As Expert Corporate Transformation (all genders), you will play an integral role in shaping the future of our company. We are searching for a highly motivated team player with strong analytical skills and a hands-on mindset – as you will be tasked with supporting one of the largest transformation programs in Europe.
What does this mean? We have developed the sCore Group Strategy, which is in full execution mode with clearly defined targets to be achieved by 2030. Implementing this Strategy requires significant changes in all parts of the company, both in customer-facing operations as well as in central functions forming the backbone of our operating model. As Expert Transformation Projects, you will both support the central steering of these transformation initiatives spanning the entire group as well as get hands-on involved in some of Metro’s most crucial projects.
Your responsibilities:
You will work closely with senior business and project leaders as well as the Head of Transformation to drive the execution of our sCore strategy through a portfolio of high-impact, cross-functional projects across the entire METRO group.
- sCore strategy: You support the successful execution of the sCore strategy and our transformation journey and you contribute to the central steering and tracking of key transformation projects across the group.
- Hands-on support: You provide hands-on support to project leaders (m/f/d), including analysis, project management, and preparation of steering materials and you will collaborate and spar closely with senior business & project leaders (m/f/d) across the entire Metro group.
- Ownership: You will take ownership of project (sub-)workstreams and drive their execution and delivery.
- Prevention: You identify risks early, flag deviations, and help steer initiatives back on track.
- Flexibility: Your role will be based in Düsseldorf; some projects may require occasional international travel.
- Reporting line: You report directly to the Head of Transformation.
Qualifications
Your profile:
- Education: University degree in Business, Economics, or a related field from a reputable institution.
- Expertise: 2+ years of relevant work experience, previous experience in Consulting, Banking or other fast-paced environments is a big plus.
- Skillset: Solid project management toolkit; able to stay structured and focused even in fast-paced, complex project settings, Clear, confident communicator — comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders, confidence working with data — from basic financial models to interpreting P&L’s or business cases.
- Digital: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with project management tools is a plus.
- Communication: Fluent in English; German is a plus.
- Personality: A collaborative team player with a passion for cross-functional, international projects and challenging the status quo, strong alignment with METRO’s Fundamentals: entrepreneurial, hands-on, and results-driven as well as sharp analytical mindset with the ability to extract clear insights and implications ("so what?").
