About the Role
As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process across multiple countries within the APAC, EMEA, and LATAM regions, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations while partnering closely with internal stakeholders and external payroll providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the complete end-to-end payroll process for multiple APAC, EMEA, and LATAM payrolls, including:
- Payroll data collection and preparation.
- Processing new hires and employee terminations in accordance with local regulations.
- Processing global compensation, insured benefits, perks, and country-specific employee benefits.
- Managing timely payroll-related payments, including salaries, social security contributions, and taxes.
- Preparing periodic payroll reports and completing statutory payroll filings.
- Performing monthly reconciliations of all payroll-related general ledger (GL) accounts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with payroll vendors and data providers to ensure smooth, accurate, and timely payroll processing.
- Adhere to payroll procedures and internal controls while supporting internal and external audit requests and identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and controls.
- Support year-end payroll activities and payroll compliance audits.
- Prepare accurate payroll journals and provide ongoing support for payroll-related GL accounts.
- Respond to employee payroll queries within agreed service level agreements (SLAs) and coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve payroll-related issues.
- Partner with payroll providers and internal stakeholders to efficiently resolve monthly payroll queries.
- Initiate net pay processing through country-specific banking platforms.
- Complete and validate quarterly and annual payroll processes to ensure compliance and control.
- Mentor and guide team members by sharing payroll accounting knowledge, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a payroll quality reviewer when required.
- Participate in payroll projects, including the implementation of new international payrolls, systems, tools, and processes.
- Support the Payroll Manager with payroll initiatives, projects, and operational priorities.
- Serve as the Payroll Subject Matter Expert (SME) for cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal departments to provide payroll guidance and operational support.
- Drive continuous process improvement and compliance initiatives within the People Operations Payroll and Benefits team.
- Oversee audits to identify and resolve data discrepancies across payroll systems in partnership with relevant teams.
- Support ongoing payroll system enhancements by assisting with implementation, user acceptance testing (UAT), and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and evolving regulatory requirements.
- Prepare ad hoc payroll accounting reports and analyses as required.
