Position Summary
As a Training Specialist at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will contribute to developing and delivering effective learning solutions that enable our mission of making the world healthier, cleaner and safer. You will partner with business leaders to design, implement and evaluate comprehensive training programs that drive operational excellence and ensure regulatory compliance. Working in a dynamic, collaborative environment, you will create engaging learning experiences using various modalities including classroom instruction, eLearning, on-the-job training, and virtual delivery methods. Your work will directly impact employee development, operational effectiveness, and ultimately customer success through improved quality and performance
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in partnership with local people managers, the site leadership team and with the global Learning & Development team to define and execute the GBS Costa Rica Learning and Development plan that meets short-term priorities whilst focusing on long term business objectives.

  • Passion for training, desire and ability to teach and help others.

  • Proactively manage all aspects of learning initiatives (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate, Administrate), including new hire On-boarding, Professional and Process training, leadership, competencies and culture development initiatives. Build and maintain effective work relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Organize, facilitate team buildings or team development sessions.

  • Build, manage, train and support the local internal trainer network, act as the point of contact for them.

  • Develop and maintain training calendar and training catalogue

  • Be the point of contact for L&D administration coordination tasks, create training reports, track training completion and attendance.

  • Ensure audit readiness on the Learning and Development area

  • Support HR when L&D is in scope for audit

  • Measure the effectiveness of training events and learning initiatives, including clear metrics that drive continuous improvement

  • Work with the global Learning & Development Manager to develop, implement and apply local and regional Learning and Development policies and procedures.

  • Act as the local ambassador for corporate learning and development programs. 

Requirements:
• Minimum of plus 3 years of experience in training/development, preferably in Shared Services environments.
• Preferred Fields of Study: Education, Instructional Design, Business, Adult Learning.
• Experience creating and delivering both instructor-led and virtual training content
• Additional certifications in training/development advantageous
• Demonstrated experience in learning management systems (LMS)
• Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and eLearning development tools (e.g., Articulate, Camtasia
• Will collaborate in administrative and logistic tasks to coordinate the different training sessions like onboarding and our usual monthly offerings. This includes but not limited to training room administration, Send and prepare CSAT surveys and its correspondent information trackers
• Strong English written and verbal communication abilities. Minimum B2
• Ability to work flexible hours to support global operations.
