Position Overview
The Associate Director of Commercial Learning and Development will evaluate needs and implement specific training and educational programs for the Sales Force, as well as internal customers. This position is accountable for assisting with the development and execution of training programs, both live and virtual, that consistently allow for the demonstration of a high level of competence for new and existing sales representatives. This individual will expand programs to advance the performance levels and professionalism of all field force team members.
Responsibilities
- Work in collaboration with the Sales and Marketing Teams to develop educational programs for strategic and tactical business applications.
- Work closely with the Sales and Marketing Teams to successfully implement tactics supporting the Product Strategic Plan.
- Provide input for the design, development, and implementation of workshops conducted at national and regional meetings, as well as all virtual training events.
- Evaluate market research and industry trends on effective training mechanisms.
- Design, develop, and facilitate live and virtual training courses for new hires and existing field force team members.
- Assist the Commercial Learning and Development team with the delivery of educational materials for key customers, both internal and external.
- Develop monthly informational updates, training workshops, and internal training resources requested by Sales and Marketing.
- Participate in key task forces that impact field force success as identified by the Director of Commercial Learning and Development.
- Assess, recommend, and purchase courseware packages and support the development of appropriate courseware tools.
- Document and track all training deliverables and assess content for compliance and instructional design integrity, making adjustments as needed.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; concentration in Business and/or Science preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively successful experience, preferably in pharmaceutical or medical sales and/or training.
- Previous pharmaceutical or medical sales experience with healthcare providers.
- Demonstrated training and mentoring skills.
- Strong communication, presentation, and platform skills.
- Technical proficiency with Microsoft Teams and other virtual training and selling tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with e-learning and authoring technologies such as Articulate 360 and multimedia applications preferred.
- Understanding of adult learning principles and implications preferred.
- Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time, including some evenings and weekends.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Office-based work environment with exposure to standard office equipment.
- Frequently sits for 6 to 8 hours per day.
- Frequent repetitive hand and wrist movements.
- Occasional walking, bending, and neck twisting.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Occasional travel within the United States and Canada.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

- Ability to build consensus and solve complex conceptual issues using abstract reasoning.
The estimated pay scale for Associate Director, Commercial Learning and Development role based remotely in North Carolina or Virginia is $120,000 to $150,000. Additionally, the position is eligible to participate in up to 15% of the company bonus pool. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on education, experience, skillset, knowledge, where the role is performed, internal equity and market data.
