Are you passionate about electronic trading, APAC markets, and product innovation? Join our Electronic Trading Solutions group in Hong Kong, where you’ll analyse and enhance electronic trading and liquidity products - including Smart Order Routing (SOR) and internalization capabilities - deliver bespoke solutions to clients, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation. This is an opportunity to make an impact in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and help shape the future of our electronic trading platform.

As a Vice President / Executive Director in the Electronic Trading Solutions group, you will be a key player on the product team within Electronic Client Solutions, part of the Equities front office. You will be primarily responsible for analysing the efficiency and performance of our SOR and liquidity offerings, tracking execution performance, and delivering tailored, data-driven solutions to clients. You will educate clients and sales teams on product capabilities and routing / execution outcomes, create client-facing materials, and partner with Technology and Quantitative Research teams to prioritise and deliver new enhancements. This role is suited to experienced candidates with strong electronic trading expertise and a deep understanding of equities market microstructure and liquidity dynamics.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform hands-on execution quality, routing, and microstructure analysis across APAC markets, with a focus on Smart Order Routing (SOR), internalization, and liquidity access, to identify performance drivers and enhancement opportunities.
  • Turn analysis into delivery: define improvements, validate impact (e.g., via diagnostics/backtesting where appropriate), and drive implementation to measurably improve execution outcomes.
  • Provide execution consulting to internal partners and clients, recommending practical routing, venue, and workflow optimizations aligned to client objectives.
  • Contribute to day-to-day product development and product management for SOR and liquidity capabilities—shaping requirements, prioritising enhancements, supporting testing, and monitoring post-release performance against clear success metrics.
  • Partner closely with Technology and Quantitative Research to deliver scalable enhancements and ensure robust implementation across the electronic trading platform.
  • Track and communicate business and performance metrics (usage, client trends, execution performance, and commercial results), using insights to help set direction and refine the product roadmap.
  • Develop client-facing materials and educate sales and clients on product capabilities and routing / execution outcomes, supporting product adoption and effective usage.
  • Ensure the platform remains aligned with market structure, regulatory requirements, and control expectations, contributing to relevant governance and best execution/control forums as needed.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience in electronic trading (ideally cash equities), in a product, execution consulting, trading, or trading analytics role.
  • Deep working knowledge of Smart Order Routing (SOR), including interaction with external liquidity venues and internal sources of liquidity.
  • Strong understanding of APAC equities markets and microstructure, including venue dynamics, liquidity formation, and market structure considerations.
  • Solid knowledge of common execution algorithms (e.g., VWAP, Implementation Shortfall, Close/Auction-style strategies) and the key drivers of their performance.
  • Proven experience with pre-trade and post-trade Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA) and the ability to translate outputs into actionable product/execution improvements.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work hands-on with large trading/execution datasets and communicate findings clearly and concisely.
  • Technical fluency with analytics/data toolsets (e.g., kdb+/q or equivalent, and/or SQL/Python or similar) to support investigation and scalable reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner cross-functionally (Technology, Quantitative Research, Sales & Trading, Operations, Legal/Compliance, and control functions) to deliver enhancements end-to-end.
  • Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills, able to build credibility and maintain effective relationships with internal and external partners.
  • High ownership and resilience: organised, self-directed, calm under pressure, with open communication and timely escalation of issues/risks.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Experience working with or building execution analytics / TCA tooling and infrastructure (e.g., kdb+/q ecosystems, systematic reporting, large-scale market/execution data caches).
  • Demonstrated track record of driving electronic trading product enhancements end-to-end (from concept and requirements through testing, rollout, and post-release performance monitoring), ideally in a multi-market APAC context.
  • Exposure to principal liquidity, strategies and related controls/governance.
