  • Document data sources in the enterprise data catalog with metadata, lineage, and classification information.
  • Develop aggregations and algorithms needed for reporting and analytics with low to moderate complexity.
  • Implement minor changes to existing data visualization applications and reporting dashboards.
  • Document modifications made to reporting applications.
  • Partner with business teams to analyze requirements and identify data sources needed for analytics and reporting applications.
  • Conduct full data lifecycle analysis to develop new insights for analytics and reporting dashboards.
  • Provide recommendations to address data quality issues with source systems.
  • Communicate approaches and findings with cross-functional teams.
  • Build analytical tools to provide actionable insights into key business KPIs.
  • Work with data engineers to optimize pipelines for scalability and data delivery when needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Actuarial Science or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in actuarial analytics or a related analytical background.
  • Auto insurance experience preferred.
  • Intermediate English communication skills.
  • Major in Actuarial Science preferred.
  • Actuarial exam qualification is not required

 

Technical Skills

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to research, assess, and develop observations and findings.
  • Experience with SQL, databases, and/or data science.
  • Some programming skills in Python, and SQL are preferred.
  • Experience with data and analytics frameworks supporting data lakes, warehouses, marts, reporting, and similar environments.
  • Experience with data tools for visualization, analytics, and reporting.
  • Ability to communicate findings and approaches clearly to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Understanding of data security policies and procedures.

 

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with underwriting, pricing, claims, or actuarial teams.
  • Familiarity with claims performance and KPI analysis, including loss ratio.
  • Experience supporting business stakeholders in an insurance environment
