Job Description
BAE Systems is looking for a Configuration Control Rep II to join its Engineering Configuration Management team in Endicott, NY. The Configuration Control Rep II will support production of aerospace control electronics for commercial and military applications. The candidate will regularly engage with engineers and manufacturing teams located in Endicott, NY and Fort Wayne. Job responsibilities for the position include:
You will work daily with engineers, program managers, and manufacturing teams in Endicott and Fort Wayne to:
  • Operate and support Windchill PLM and JIRA/Bitbucket toolchains.
  • Manage product structures, change requests, and software builds throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Aid in data‑migration, validation, and tool‑upgrade activities.
  • Provide training, troubleshooting, and continuous‑process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Configuration Management Ownership – Enforce Configuration Management Plans; ensure compliance with BAE Systems policy, export‑control markings, and standards such as ISO 9001 and AS9100.
  2. Windchill Administration – Create/maintain user accounts, configure permissions, troubleshoot PLM issues, and support product‑structure updates.
  3. JIRA & Bitbucket Administration – Set up projects, manage workflows, monitor CI/CD pipelines, and resolve configuration‑related tickets.
  4. Product Structure Management – Build and maintain hierarchical BOMs, part‑numbering schemes, and baseline configurations.
  5. Engineering Document Creation & Management
    • Draft, edit, and maintain A‑size Microsoft Word engineering documents.
    • Convert final documents to PDF and upload them to Windchill.
    • Initiate internal review routing following BAE Systems standards (select required reviewers, track approvals).
    • Create the associated part object in Windchill and route that part for review.
  6. BOM Management – Create, Maintain, and Review Bill of Materials in Windchill
  7. Document Lifecycle Management – Publish, version, and archive engineering drawings, specifications, and test data.
  8. Change Management – Process Engineering Change Requests (CRs), Engineering Change Orders, and Software Changes from creation through release.
  9. Data Migration & Validation – Import/export of data between legacy systems and Windchill; verify integrity and resolve discrepancies.
  10. Tool Upgrade & Test Support – Aid in pilot testing, integration testing, and rollout of PLM upgrades or new CM tools.
  11. Export & Proprietary Marking – Ensure all data, drawings, and software are properly labeled for ITAR/EAR and BAE Systems proprietary markings.
  12. Continuous Improvement – Analyze CM processes for efficiency gains, cost reduction, and risk mitigation; develop SOPs and training material.

  1. Hands‑on experience with Windchill (PLM) and JIRA/Bitbucket (or comparable tools).
  2. Understanding of hardware, firmware, and software configuration concepts (baseline, revision, traceability).
  3. Proficiency with Microsoft Word/ Office and PDF creation
  4. Strong written and verbal communication
  5. Independent judgment & discretion when interpreting policies, especially export‑control and ITAR/EAR.
  6. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, multi‑project environment

  • Experience in Windchill PLM Environment.
  • UNIX/Linux command‑line experience (including VAX if applicable).
  • Familiarity with Industry standards (EIA-649, EIA-649-1, ASME).
High proficiency using Microsoft Word, custom formatting, templates and complex tables.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $43285 - $69256

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
