About this role Join our Managed Services team supporting a Tier‑1 fixed wireless operator. As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be the subject matter expert for Cloud Native Core and Element Management Systems, driving integration, stability, and continuous improvement across a large‑scale, multi‑vendor environment. The work spans design, delivery, automation, and operational excellence.
What you will do
- Lead as the technical authority for Core and EMS across new projects, from impact assessment and design reviews to acceptance and handover to operations
- Create clear work instructions for Ericsson Dual Mode Core, including disaster recovery and orchestration of containerized network functions
- Introduce and integrate new core network elements, cloud native capabilities, and lifecycle upgrades in partnership with delivery and project teams
- Identify and implement network automation using Python, Shell, and Ansible to remove repetitive tasks and enable autonomous operations
- Provide 2nd level escalation support to Core, IP Transport, and OSS operations teams
- Oversee security vulnerability management, certificate lifecycle, and monthly technical and installed base audits
- Share knowledge and mentor operational teams to uplift capability
- Support end‑to‑end presales for Core portfolio offerings with the local Managed Services team
- Review and approve Methods of Procedure for test and production environments
- Execute network changes, software upgrades, and updates on core network elements when required
- Maintain deep knowledge of core network elements, solution architecture, and EMS platforms
- Investigate and resolve northbound interface and statistical file integration issues
- Maintain a clear view of end‑to‑end topology and interworking across network elements
- Facilitate the introduction of new products, software, applications, and services
- Run quarterly network‑wide parameter audits to ensure consistency
What you will bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical qualification
- 10+ years in cellular networks, including at least 3 years in 5G SA or NSA
- 10+ years across telecom core operations, design, or architecture, ideally in EPC, Cloud Native Core, or IP MPBN environments
- Strong hands‑on experience with Ericsson Core Network products and EMS
- Proven delivery across managed services, network modernization, integration, or solution architecture programs
- Solid experience with Cisco and Juniper IP core infrastructure
- Deep knowledge of MPLS, BGP, OSPF, and Segment Routing, including SR‑MPLS or SRv6
- Proficiency in Python, Bash or Shell, and Ansible for automation
- Experience with cloud‑native core deployments, for example Kubernetes, OpenShift, Helm, Docker
- Good knowledge of UNIX and Windows server platforms, preferably at admin level
- Strong understanding of IP networking, security, and telecom networks
