POSITION OVERVIEW 

Zarminali Pediatrics is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team in Sartell, MN. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to support children's development, delivering hands-on treatment for a range of developmental, sensory, and functional challenges while partnering closely with families and interdisciplinary teams to deliver whole-child, family-centered care. This position is open to both part-time and full-time candidates, paid hourly. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO: 

As a Pediatric COTA at Zarminali you will focus on: 

• Treatment Delivery: Implement individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Occupational Therapist, delivering engaging, play-based therapy sessions focused on improving functional skills such as feeding, dressing, handwriting, and sensory integration. 

• Skill Building: Support children in building fine motor skills, sensory processing abilities, self-care routines, and progress toward developmental milestones. 

• Supervisory Collaboration: Communicate regularly with the supervising OT on patient progress, treatment response, and any changes in status, and contribute observations that inform ongoing plan updates. 

• Family Education: Partner with families and caregivers by reinforcing education, strategies, and tools to support progress at home and in daily routines. 

• Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment sessions, progress notes, and session outcomes in accordance with regulatory standards and under OT oversight. 

• Collaboration: Work closely with occupational therapists, speech therapists, physical therapists, physicians, and care teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care. 

• Care Coordination: Support transitions of care and ensure alignment across providers to maximize outcomes for each patient.

WHAT YOU BRING: 

• Active MN license/certification to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). 

• NBCOT certification in good standing. 

• Minimum of one to two years of pediatric experience preferred. 

• Experience with sensory integration and developmental therapy techniques. 

• Proficiency with electronic medical records. 

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 

• Excellent organization, time management, and clinical judgment. 

• Ability to work both independently (within scope of practice) and collaboratively within a team environment. 

• Willingness and flexibility to work either part-time or full-time hours. 

• Current CPR/BLS certification, or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire. 

• Ability to pass a background check and provide up-to-date immunization records, consistent with clinical setting requirements. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

• Ability to lift and/or maneuver up to 40 lbs, including lifting, carrying, or repositioning children as needed during therapy sessions. 

• Ability to kneel, bend, crouch, and sit on the floor, and to move quickly to ensure patient safety during treatment. 

• Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to monitor patient response, safety, and progress throughout sessions. 

• Ability to stand and move for extended periods during a scheduled shift.

Zarminali Pediatrics is a national organization, and compensation is determined using market-informed data, including industry benchmarks. Pay ranges may vary based on geographic location, local market conditions, state-specific factors, and individual qualifications, including years of experience, education, and scope of responsibility. This range reflects the minimum and maximum pay we reasonably expect to offer for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, and internal equity. This role may also be eligible for additional productivity or performance-based bonus incentives.
