Position Purpose
The Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized assessment, treatment, and management of acute and chronic wounds for patients across Mercy Care Atlanta's ambulatory care settings. This role supports patient-centered, team-based care by delivering evidence-based wound treatment, patient education, and care coordination to prevent complications and promote healing.
What You Will Do
Conduct comprehensive wound assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
Provide evidence-based wound care, including dressing selection, wound monitoring, and debridement within scope of practice.
Manage a variety of wounds, including diabetic foot ulcers, pressure injuries, venous and arterial ulcers, surgical wounds, and traumatic injuries.
Collaborate with physicians, podiatrists, diabetes educators, nutritionists, social workers, and community partners to optimize patient outcomes.
Educate patients and caregivers on wound prevention, self-care, infection recognition, nutrition, and chronic disease management.
Maintain accurate electronic health record documentation and support quality improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Current, unrestricted RN license in Georgia.
Minimum two years of clinical nursing experience, including at least one year of wound care or related specialty experience.
Current BLS/CPR certification.
Experience with electronic health records.
Strong communication, patient education, and collaboration skills.
