Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Engineering & Data Tools Specialist to support a project focused on improving how advanced AI systems understand and work with modern technical platforms.
You will evaluate tools used across software engineering, cloud infrastructure, developer productivity, data analysis, monitoring, and workflow automation. The work includes designing realistic use cases, testing integrations, reviewing AI-generated outputs, and documenting clear recommendations based on practical tool usage. Previous AI experience is not required.
CONTRACT: Freelance contractor, output-based assignment
COMMITMENT: Approximately 15 hours per week, with minimum weekly task submission requirements
LOCATIONS: Fully remote - GLOBAL
PROCESS: : Application review, practical tool assessment, and client evaluation
HOURY RATE" $40-$80/h
Responsibilities
- Evaluate engineering and data tools for usability, accuracy, and practical value.
- Design realistic workflows involving cloud, developer, and analytics platforms.
- Test integrations across tools such as GitHub, Azure, JIRA, and Metabase.
- Review workflows involving CI/CD, monitoring, data visualisation, and automation.
- Create technical guides, use cases, and process documentation.
- Identify workflow gaps, integration issues, and improvement opportunities.
- Assess AI-generated technical outputs and provide structured feedback.
- Deliver clear recommendations to project stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with engineering, data, or cloud tools.
- Practical experience with GitHub, Azure, JIRA, and Metabase.
- Experience designing or reviewing technical workflows and integrations.
- Ability to document technical processes clearly and accurately.
- Experience with tools such as AWS, Firebase, Postman, Datadog, Sentry, Linear, n8n, Tableau, Databricks, Twilio, or BrowserStack.
- Background in software engineering, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, data engineering, or analytics.
