Role Overview

HighLevel is accelerating its Email Marketing platform to become the AI-first communication engine for businesses worldwide. We are looking for a Staff Product Manager to transform Email Marketing from a traditional campaign builder into an intelligent, end-to-end campaign creation and automation ecosystem.

Today, HighLevel powers email creation, campaign scheduling, reporting, and lifecycle automation through Email Builder and Sequences. Your mandate is to redefine the customer experience through AI-native creation, intuitive editing interfaces, intelligent lifecycle automation, and actionable campaign intelligence — driving user adoption, activation, engagement, and revenue with a clear, metrics-driven product roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

1. Build World-Class Email Creation Experiences

  • Own the end-to-end Email Builder user experience, including drag-and-drop editors, custom HTML tools, reusable visual components, responsive templates, and real-time collaborative editing.

  • Build an industry-leading AI-native email editor that enables users to generate complete, high-converting email layouts using simple natural language prompts.

  • Lead the evolution of a natural language prompt-to-layout generation ("vibe-code") builder, allowing non-technical marketers to create production-ready emails instantaneously.

  • Deliver native multivariate experimentation tools, including subject line, body copy, layout, and Call-To-Action (CTA) A/B testing to continuously improve conversion rates.

2. Transform Email Marketing Through AI

  • Define the multi-year vision and execution strategy for Email AI, enabling automated campaign generation, brand-aware messaging, localized/multilingual copy creation, and intelligent optimization.

  • Build Sequence AI to automatically create multi-step lifecycle journeys, including onboarding, lead nurture, abandoned cart recovery, upsells, and re-engagement campaigns.

  • Partner closely with core AI teams to deliver prompt-based workflow creation, predictive recommendations, and autonomous campaign creation.

  • Maintain high standards for responsible AI, establishing guardrails around brand voice consistency, content quality evaluation, and privacy compliance.

3. Build Intelligent Campaign Delivery & Automation Workflows

  • Own execution and scheduling features, including Send Now, Scheduled Send, Timezone-aware Sending, and AI-powered Send Time Optimization.

  • Scale automated Sequences, trigger logic, dynamic branching, smart personalization fields, and event-driven marketing workflows.

  • Streamline campaign creation workflows to minimize operational complexity for marketers while maximizing end-user engagement.

4. Drive Campaign Intelligence & Customer Insights

  • Build reporting dashboards that accurately measure campaign execution, open/click engagement, conversion rates, attributed revenue, and overall ROI.

  • Deliver actionable, AI-powered recommendations that guide users on how to improve campaign engagement and conversion performance.

  • Establish robust product instrumentation, funnels, and experimentation frameworks to measure feature adoption and product-led outcomes.

5. Build Audience & Preference Management

  • Own subscriber preferences, consent management workflows, and end-user preference centers.

  • Deliver flexible preference experiences that increase customer trust and support global messaging compliance (CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR, etc.).

6. Drive Product Strategy & Execution

  • Establish a 12–18 month product roadmap for Email Marketing aligned with HighLevel’s broader product strategy.

  • Conduct continuous customer discovery, competitive analysis, and usability research.

  • Author clear, outcome-focused PRDs and partner closely with Engineering, Product Design, AI, Customer Success, and Go-To-Market teams.

What Success Looks Like

First 90 Days

  • Formulate a strategic vision and roadmap for the Email Builder and AI-powered campaign lifecycle.

  • Identify and ship initial usability and performance quick-wins in the core Email Builder and Sequence tools based on user feedback and analytics.

  • Establish clear instrumentation and North Star KPIs around activation, campaign creation velocity, and engagement.

  • Align cross-functional Engineering, Design, AI, and GTM teams on upcoming priorities.

First 12 Months

  • Launch Email AI into General Availability (GA) with strong user adoption, drastically reducing campaign creation time.

  • Deploy production-ready natural language prompt-to-layout email generation capabilities.

  • Ship Sequence AI, enabling users to generate multi-touch customer journeys using simple prompts.

  • Expand preference management tools to ensure global compliance and improved subscriber trust.

  • Drive measurable uplift in activation, feature adoption, and campaign success across the HighLevel ecosystem.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of Product Management experience, with a background in SaaS product management, email marketing tools, WYSIWYG builders, or marketing automation platforms.

  • Demonstrated success building intuitive, high-adoption end-user tools (editors, drag-and-drop builders, visual canvas tools, or content creation interfaces).

  • Hands-on experience with AI/ML integrations, particularly generative text/image tools, prompt engineering workflows, or predictive optimization engines.

  • Strong product craft: proven track record of writing PRDs, mapping user journeys, conducting customer research, and translating complex capabilities into simple UX.

  • Data-fluent mindset: experience defining product instrumentation, running A/B tests, and tracking funnel conversion metrics.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with a track record of driving cross-functional alignment across Engineering, Design, Product, and GTM teams.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with marketing automation workflows, drip campaigns, or lifecycle marketing tools.

  • Background in dynamic content generation, templating systems, or visual design software.

  • Experience designing features for international audiences (localization, multi-language support).
