Senior Submission Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced Submissions professional to join our high-performing team of writers and designers. In this pivotal role, you will lead the development of compelling, customer-focused submissions that showcase Downer’s capability, support our growth strategy, and help secure some of New Zealand’s most significant transport and infrastructure projects.
Working with a wide variety of stakeholders across the business, you’ll understand client requirements, procurement models and evaluation criteria, and be able to translate these into compelling win strategies and high-scoring submissions.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Produce engaging, persuasive, and high-scoring written content that supports business growth and project success.
- Manage complex tender submissions, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently met from planning and content development through to final submission.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across the business to influence outcomes and support successful bids.
Maintain a high level of organisation and adaptability in a fast-paced environment, delivering quality outcomes
We are open to candidates based in Auckland, Christchurch, Tauranga, or Wellington, as this role can be performed from any of these locations.

- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
- Excellent organisation and project management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- A proactive, results-driven mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and quality outcomes.
Previous experience working in the civil construction industry would be an advantage, but we welcome candidates with strong writing, communication and project management skills, together with a continuous improvement mindset and a passion for producing exceptional work.
