Accounts Receivable Associate

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
• Manage customer deductions, disputes, cost recoveries, and documentation requests for more sophisticated accounts, ensuring timely resolution and clear, professional communication with customers and distributors.
• Apply customer payments and perform cash application activities with outstanding precision, including matching payments, recording deductions, and ensuring compliant AR postings across multiple payment methods.
• Reconcile bank statements to ERP and general ledger accounts, investigating variances and resolving discrepancies in partnership with Finance and GL teams.
• Take ownership of specific customer issues, serving as a point of escalation and providing appropriate, timely solutions to support customer satisfaction and cash flow objectives.
• Review, analyze, and resolve deduction and cost recovery issues, evaluating disputes based on order details, product circumstances, pricing agreements, and policy requirements.
• Coordinate cross‑functionally with Customer Service, Sales, Finance, Logistics, and Credit to ensure claims and disputes are thoroughly reviewed and resolved prior to settlement.
• Support and mentor newer team members, providing guidance on complex accounts, deductions, and processes to ensure timely and accurate resolution.
• Prepare AR reports to support month‑end close, including aging, revenue status, deductions, KPIs, and ad‑hoc analyses for month‑end, quarter‑end, year‑end, and audit requirements.
• Participate in and help drive operational improvement and automation initiatives within the Transactional Services teams to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
• Contribute to acquisition integration activities, supporting the alignment of AR processes, customer data, and controls for newly acquired entities.
• Maintain compliance with nVent policies, internal controls, and applicable regulations, while supporting audits and internal control requirements.
YOU HAVE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience, preferred.
• 1+ year of experience in Finance or Accounting, including areas such as Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Credit Management, Customer Support, Collections, or Litigation support.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Demonstrated experience handling more complex customer accounts, deductions, or reconciliations.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (intermediate to advanced skills including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, IF, COUNT).
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail when managing customer accounts and financial data.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and internal partners.
• Proactive attitude with growing independence and responsibility.
• Collaborative great teammate with the ability to mentor and support others while owning individual responsibilities.
