Standards Engineer
Overview
VTG is seeking a Standards Engineer to support technical standards development efforts in Fredericksburg, VA. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge of wireless and packet data networks, along with hands-on experience participating in industry standards organizations, to help shape technical contributions on behalf of the program.
Responsibilities
- Develop and attend domestic and international standards-based meetings, including carrier-specific meetings
- Participate in conference calls to provide technical expertise and recommendations
- Support the development and submission of technical contributions for the program
Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen with a Top Secret clearance.
BA/BS degree in an applicable field, or eight (8) years of relevant experienceIn-depth technical knowledge and experience with wireless and packet data networks, including GPRS, HSPA, UMTS, LTE, CDMA2000, IMS, IP, SIP, and RTP
Practical experience attending and developing contributions within industry lawful intercept standards organizations, such as:
European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI)
Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP)
3GPP2
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)
Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS)
Cloud Services Forum (CSF)
Active Top Secret clearance
