We are looking for an experienced Calypso Developer to join our technology team and contribute to the design, development, enhancement, and support of enterprise-grade trading and capital markets solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in the Calypso platform, hands-on development experience, and a solid understanding of financial markets and trading workflows. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and cross-functional technology teams to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions that support front-office, middle-office, and back-office operations.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, customize, and maintain applications built on the Calypso platform.
  • Configure and enhance Calypso modules to meet business and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop custom workflows, interfaces, APIs, reports, scheduled tasks, and batch processes.
  • Integrate Calypso with internal and external systems using Java, messaging frameworks, and web services.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions while ensuring scalability and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, project managers, QA teams, and end users throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
  • Optimize application performance and improve system reliability through code enhancements and best development practices.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and release planning activities.
  • Ensure compliance with development standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare technical documentation, design specifications, and deployment guides.
  • Support production releases, system upgrades, and platform migrations when required.

Requirements

Must-Have Skills

  • 4–15 years of software development experience with strong expertise in the Calypso platform.
  • Hands-on experience in Calypso development, customization, and configuration.
  • Strong programming skills in Java and object-oriented design principles.
  • Experience developing Calypso workflows, custom modules, adapters, reports, and interfaces.
  • Good understanding of financial products including fixed income, derivatives, FX, commodities, or money markets.
  • Experience integrating Calypso with external systems using APIs, messaging technologies, or web services.
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and version control systems such as Git.

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Experience in software testing, including unit testing, integration testing, and system validation.
  • Exposure to Business Analysis, including requirement gathering, functional documentation, process mapping, and stakeholder communication.
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment practices.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms or containerization technologies.
  • Understanding of capital markets regulations and post-trade processing.
  • Exposure to performance tuning and production support activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant Calypso certifications or financial technology certifications are an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within cross-functional global teams.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving business requirements.
