Facility Fire Protection Engineer for KTC R&D Center

Job Title: Fire Protection Engineer Support the design, review, and optimization of fire protection and life safety systems. Provide engineering support for automatic sprinkler systems, fire hydrant systems, water spray systems, fire alarm and detection systems, clean agent suppression systems(Novec1230, etc,. Develop engineering solutions to reduce fire and explosion risks. Support fire modeling, smoke control analysis, and egress evaluations as required. Provide technical oversight of fire protection systems throughout the facility lifecycle. Support preventive maintenance, testing, inspection, startup, and commissioning activities. Investigate system deficiencies and implement corrective actions. Participate in emergency response planning and incident investigations. Evaluate fire and explosion hazards related to toxic gases, specialty gases, flammable gases, hazardous chemicals, solvent systems, and semiconductor process equipment. Support fire protection strategies for laboratories, cleanrooms, utility systems, and chemical distribution systems. Collaborate with EHS and operations teams to ensure safe facility operation. Support regulatory inspections, permit acquisition, audits, and compliance reviews. Interface with government agencies, fire authorities, insurance representatives, and third-party auditors. Support capital projects from planning through commissioning. Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders. Support project execution, scheduling, and technical deliverables related to fire protection systems. Bachelor's degree in: Fire Protection Engineering Safety Engineering Mechanical Engineering Chemical Engineering Or related engineering discipline 5+ years of experience in fire protection, facilities engineering, or life safety engineering. Experience supporting semiconductor, high-tech manufacturing, pharmaceutical, chemical, or industrial facilities. Proven experience with fire protection system design, operation, and compliance. Strong understanding of: Fire dynamics Fire detection and suppression systems Hazardous material risk management Engineering design review Construction and commissioning processes Experience reviewing engineering drawings and technical specifications. Knowledge of AutoCAD and engineering documentation systems. Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional environment. Professional Engineer (PE) license in Fire Protection Engineering. Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS). Fire Protection Engineer License (소방설비기사 - Mechanical or Electrical). Experience applying NFPA and FM Global standards. Experience supporting semiconductor fabrication facilities, R&D centers, or cleanroom environments. Experience with: Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS) Pathfinder BIM/Revit Computational fire modeling Safety Leadership Engineering Judgment Risk Assessment and Hazard Analysis Regulatory Compliance Project Management Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis Strategic Thinking Cross-Functional Collaboration Continuous Improvement Mindset
