Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Supply Chain Manager at our Los Angeles, CA site location! This person will be a part of defining and transforming supply chain functions within this plant, defining ownership within teams, and clarity to all network level decisions to be implemented within the site. External candidates must reside within 50 miles of the Los Angeles, CA facility to be considered.

The Los Angeles facility designs and manufactures quality valves, regulators, and other fluid controls used mostly by the Aerospace Industry.

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for managing key Supply Chain related functions such as materials planning, scheduling and ordering activities associated with the delivery of specific customer products, direct and indirect material purchasing, inventory control and warehousing, shipping and receiving. This role will manage and direct supply chain personnel in the procurement, receipt, disbursement, and inventory control of material to ensure on-time delivery of customer orders while maintaining assigned inventory levels. The manager is expected to train and educate direct reports on the use of supply chain management techniques, various business systems, varieties of reports and other related tools to ensure timely and economical completion of customer requirements.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $149000 - $219000 a year. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive plan. What you’ll do:

  • Manages current and future demand requirements with manufacturing and supplier capabilities / capacities to ensure completion of customer requirements
  • Implements methods, practices and techniques to ensure the most economical movement of materials through the supply chain to achieve cost-effective logistics practices and inventory levels while meeting customer delivery requirements
  • Manages plant purchasing activities for items procured on local basis in order to compliment centrally purchased items
  • Analyzes data, including enterprise requirements, planning information and prepares consolidated managerial reports as needed to facilitate and recommend actions to ensure plant / product line optimal supply chain execution
  • Ensures correct planning parameters and transaction disciplines are utilized in order execution systems (such as MFGPro) to ensure proper order generation and inventory balances
  • Manages material cost and schedule impact of proposed engineering changes in addition to taking necessary actions to ensure successful implementation and incorporation of approved engineering releases
  • Devises and manages physical inventory audit methodology which meets corporate, governmental and customer specifications
  • Champion and deploy continuous improvement leveraging tools such as internal assessments ( MMA,OPA), visual management, standard work and value stream mapping Evaluates operational performance of the group in order to facilitate performance management, merit promotions, job transfers, dismissals, commendations, etc.
  • Coordinates with central Corporate Supply Chain Function to provide data and participate in teams in order to drive best practices across Eaton Corp.
  • Support compliance initiatives and corporate commodity, logistics, and inventory strategies to achieve synergy across the operation.
  • Responsible for the administration of Indirect and MRO purchasing function according to policies and practices determined by Eaton standards.
  • Responsible for generating short-term production scheduling aligned the plan defined by the Network
  • Responsible for monitoring execution of production schedule defined by the Network ( schedule labor on factory floor, monitor execution of the production plan) and responsible for escalation of of material availability to the COE and Network teams

Qualifications:

Required Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in supply chain management within a manufacturing and/or operations environment.
  • Minimum four (4) years of supervisory/managerial experience
  • This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business or Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Experience in aerospace, complex machined manufacturing, or a startup environment heavily preferred
  • CPIM, CPM certification
  • System knowledge with Kinaxis, Power BI, SAP, Oracle, MFGPro, Cognos/ OBIEE
  • 3+ years experience with CI or Lean Manufacturing
  • 3+ years' experience with an operations or supply chain transformation within manufacturing
  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings, which include geometric dimensioning and tolerancing

Skills

  • Full knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic
  • Thorough understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, scheduling, purchasing, supplier selection, inventory control, logistics, stockroom operations, shipping/receiving.
  • Thorough knowledge of purchasing techniques and practices, including procedures associated with sourcing internationally.
  • Detailed knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction (Six Sigma) concepts and tool sets as they relate to materials management.
  • Demonstrated procurement activity of, but not limited to, the following: Tools, Equipment, Machines, Castings, Forgings, Bearings, Complex machine parts including a variety of gears and major sub-assemblies
