Job Description:

Ensures all financial assessments, eligibility, and benefits memos are clear, updated, and thorough to support post-care financial needs. Performs cashiering functions, such as daily batching and cash reconciliation, with accuracy. Uses utmost caution to ensure authorizations and pre-certifications are correct to avoid rejections and/or denials. Maintains current and thorough knowledge of online eligibility and pre-certification tools. Achieves productivity standards by monitoring patient tracking boards to proactively identify patients requiring registration. Reviews all collection reports timely as assigned by leadership. Meets or exceeds upfront collection standard goals to protect the financial standing of AdventHealth. Creates accurate good faith estimates to maximize up-front cash collections and adds collection documentation where required. Properly identifies patients, ensures armband accuracy, inputs demographic information, and secures required forms. Facilitates timely discharge and maximizes reimbursement. Works patient accounts regarding insurance identification, selection, and required protocols. Registers patients for services, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory policies. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of HIPAA privacy rules and adroit ability to use discretion when discussing patient-related information that is confidential in nature as needed to perform duties
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft programs and familiarity with database programs
  • Ability to operate general office machines such as computers, facsimiles, copiers, and scanners
  • Ability to effectively learn and perform multiple tasks, and organize work in a systematic and efficient fashion
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in English, both verbally and in written form
  • Ability to be responsive to ever-changing matrix of hospital needs and act accordingly
  • Ability to follow complex instructions and procedures, with a close attention to detail
  • Knowledge of computer programs, such as Cerner
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology
  • Exposure to insurance benefits; ability to decipher insurance benefit information
  • Bilingual – English/Spanish


Education:

  • Associate [Preferred]


Field of Study:

  • in Health Services Administration or other related medical or business field Preferred


Work Experience:

  • 1+ customer services [Required]
  • Prior collections [Preferred]


Additional Information:

  • Full Time. Monday- Friday from 7:30am- 4:00pm.


Licenses and Certifications:

  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$16.63 - $26.60
