Remote | Full-time
Compensation: $160K - $230K
Our client is seeking a Principal Solutions Engineer to assist institutions, fintechs, and enterprises across the APAC region in adopting advanced custody and security infrastructure with confidence and ease. This role is both hands-on and client-facing, requiring the successful candidate to design integrations for complex environments, guide customers through deployment, and provide end-to-end technical support across key regional centers, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Sydney, Seoul, and beyond.
Combining deep technical expertise with strong communication skills, the individual in this role will serve as a trusted advisor to CTOs, architects, and engineering teams at banks, exchanges, custodians, and fintechs. Key duties involve designing tailored solutions, delivering technical proposals, troubleshooting issues in real time, and collaborating closely with backend, security, and product teams to ensure successful customer outcomes across multiple time zones, regulatory regimes, and languages.
This position balances senior technical leadership with hands-on execution, reporting directly to the VP of Solutions Engineering and working in close alignment with Sales, Engineering, Security, and Product to drive regional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the senior technical point of contact across the APAC region, advising clients from initial technical conversations through long-term production deployment.
- Guide financial institutions and fintechs through seamless onboarding and integration workflows.
- Build secure, scalable deployment pathways that bridge legacy and modern systems.
- Provide hands-on technical support by troubleshooting, fixing, and building solutions alongside client engineering teams.
- Collaborate with sales teams on technical proposals, demonstrations, RFP responses, and enterprise procurement processes specific to APAC markets.
- Partner with internal security teams to ensure every integration meets security, privacy, and compliance standards, including local regulatory requirements (MAS, HKMA, JFSA, VARA, and others).
- Maintain and improve technical documentation and developer guides tailored to the needs of regional developers.
- Gather client feedback and translate insights into product and API improvements, serving as the regional voice of the customer.
- Represent the client at regional conferences, workshops, hackathons, and industry meetings.
- Develop playbooks and reusable integration patterns to scale service delivery across APAC.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in solutions engineering, forward-deployed engineering, or enterprise integration roles, preferably within fintech, blockchain, or enterprise software.
- Demonstrated track record of assisting institutions with the deployment of mission-critical production systems.
- An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to self-start, champion new ideas, and execute tasks end-to-end.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript (or similar languages) alongside proven REST API experience.
- Deep technical knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS essential; GCP, Azure, IBM, or Thales are advantageous), microservices, and serverless architectures.
- Solid understanding of enterprise security frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS) and familiarity with APAC regulatory regimes (MAS, HKMA, JFSA, VARA).
- Proven capability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and deliver results under pressure across multiple client engagements.
- Exceptional documentation, presentation, and demonstration skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business discussions at the executive level.
- Prior knowledge of blockchain, custody, and financial workflows is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of custody technologies, such as Multi-Party Computation (MPC) and Hardware Security Modules (HSM).
- Understanding of regional regulatory requirements and experience with offline signing solutions are advantageous.
- Experience operating effectively across multiple APAC markets and time zones.
- A pragmatic approach to balancing operational speed, security, and business priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; fluency in Mandarin, Japanese, or Korean is a strong plus.
- AWS Solutions Architect or equivalent technical certifications are desirable.
Benefits
- Competitive base salary ($160,000–$230,000 per year, full-time).
- Equity component (100–200 stock options vested over a 4-year period).
- Comprehensive healthcare coverage.
- Pension / retirement plan options.
- Full coverage for approved travel expenses.
- Flexible working model (Singapore or Hong Kong preferred; remote-first with optional office access).
