Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for an Associate on the Infrastructure Investments Team at TD Asset Management ("TDAM"). This is an opportunity to build a career with one of the largest asset managers in Canada with over $500 billion of assets under management ("AUM"). The Associate will join the infrastructure investments team responsible for deal execution and asset management for a global, multi-sector infrastructure strategy with approx. $4.6 billion of invested and committed capital. Reporting to the Managing Director, Head of Global Infrastructure, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the investment process for the infrastructure strategy. Strong financial modeling and an understanding of private market investments is required.

Role-Specific Accountabilities

  • Build financial models for infrastructure projects and companies, lead industry and investment research, complete financial and strategic analysis as required, support financial analysis and reporting for fund entities and investments.

  • Support deal execution (including due diligence, investment research, review of third-party expert reports, preparation of investment committee recommendations with primary responsibility for financial modeling.)

  • Support asset management activities (interacting with management teams, preparing board materials, financial analysis and reporting, forecasting, strategic reviews, ESG reviews and reporting)

  • Support fund and client operations (financial analysis and reporting, third party valuation process, responding to client requests, participating in client meetings)

  • Participate in relevant industry and company events as required

Qualifications

  • Approximately 3 to 4 years of relevant infrastructure, investment banking, private equity or private market investing experience.

  • Strong foundation of transactional DCF financial modelling experience along with analytical and valuation skills.

  • Preferred candidates will have an educational background in finance or engineering, additional accreditation or working towards one such as CFA would be an asset.

  • This position is based in our Toronto office, but the successful candidate must be able to travel internationally.

  • Understanding or knowledge of global infrastructure investing including debt and equity structuring, legal, tax and accounting issues and institutional investor considerations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with high degree of professionalism and ability to present ideas in a clear and concise manner.

  • Additional language skills would be an asset.

  • Team player with ability to deliver in a high-performance culture operating under time-sensitive deadlines.

  • Willingness to actively contribute to a positive, highly effective and collaborative team culture with an ability to foster effective working relationships across the organization.

  • Strong passion for infrastructure investing with a proven ability to act like an owner with a fiduciary mindset.
