The Role
Key Responsibilities
SAP Delivery Leadership
• Provide overall leadership for SAP projects, transformation programs and managed services delivered by Kyndryl Mexico.
• Ensure contractual commitments, milestones, service levels, deliverables and acceptance criteria are clearly defined and achieved.
• Oversee scope, schedule, budget, quality, risks, dependencies and resource capacity across the SAP portfolio.
• Establish effective operational, tactical and executive governance for SAP accounts and engagements.
• Maintain consolidated visibility of delivery status, financial performance, risks, escalations and required decisions.
• Lead the recovery of critical projects or services experiencing material delivery, quality or financial deviations.
• Manage major client escalations and ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
• Ensure transitions from project delivery into operations include appropriate documentation, knowledge transfer, tools, support processes and operational readiness.
• Promote consistent use of delivery methodologies, quality gates, controls and lessons learned.
Client Leadership
• Serve as the senior SAP delivery executive for strategic clients in Mexico.
• Build trusted relationships with CIOs, CTOs, business leaders, application executives and transformation stakeholders.
• Translate business priorities into SAP transformation roadmaps, service strategies and executable delivery plans.
• Communicate progress, risks, issues, decisions and business outcomes clearly at executive level.
• Facilitate difficult conversations regarding scope, priorities, responsibilities, timelines and contractual commitments.
• Identify opportunities to expand Kyndryl’s SAP footprint within existing accounts.
• Protect client satisfaction while maintaining appropriate delivery, financial and contractual discipline.
Business Growth and Pre-Sales
• Support the development and execution of the SAP growth strategy for Kyndryl Mexico.
• Partner with Sales, Client Partners, Solutioning, Alliances and other Kyndryl practices to develop new opportunities.
• Participate in RFPs, RFIs, solution workshops, client presentations, proposals and commercial negotiations.
• Validate that proposed SAP solutions are technically feasible, operationally sustainable and financially viable.
• Review estimates, staffing models, delivery locations, timelines, assumptions, dependencies and risks before commitments are made.
• Ensure statements of work clearly define scope, deliverables, responsibilities, acceptance criteria and exclusions.
• Develop repeatable SAP offerings, delivery assets, accelerators and differentiated value propositions.
• Promote cross-selling opportunities involving cloud, infrastructure, security, data, AI, testing, application development and managed services.
Financial and Commercial Management
• Own the financial performance of the SAP Service Tower.
• Manage revenue, gross margin, cost, utilization, productivity, backlog and forecast accuracy.
• Monitor project and service economics and identify potential margin erosion at an early stage.
• Define and implement corrective actions for engagements that are not meeting their financial targets.
• Ensure appropriate control over subcontractors, third-party services, non-billable activities and transition investments.
• Balance current delivery capacity, future demand, workforce availability and bench exposure.
• Participate in pricing, staffing, investment and sourcing decisions.
• Ensure commercial commitments are aligned with the delivery organization’s actual capacity and capabilities.
Talent and Capability Development
• Define and execute the SAP talent and capability strategy for Mexico.
• Build an organization capable of supporting SAP transformations, implementations, application management services and continuous improvement.
• Lead SAP delivery managers, program managers, solution architects, functional leads and technical leads.
• Establish workforce plans for critical functional, technical, architecture and delivery roles.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition to recruit SAP professionals with the required experience and seniority.
• Develop certification, training, upskilling and succession plans.
• Establish communities of practice and mechanisms for sharing and reusing knowledge.
• Reduce dependency on individual experts through documentation, cross-training and role backup strategies.
• Maintain an effective balance of seniority, cost, location and specialization.
• Coordinate local, nearshore, offshore and third-party teams.
Architecture, Quality and Methodology
• Ensure consistent application of SAP Activate and Kyndryl delivery standards.
• Promote fit-to-standard and clean-core principles across SAP transformation programs.
• Establish quality gates for discovery, design, build, testing, data conversion, deployment and stabilization.
• Ensure SAP solutions are scalable, supportable, secure and aligned with the client’s enterprise architecture.
• Oversee the quality of business process design documents, functional specifications, technical designs, RICEFW inventories, workbooks and operational documentation.
• Ensure end-to-end business processes are considered across modules, applications, integrations and data platforms.
• Promote automation in testing, operations, monitoring, release management and support processes.
• Drive responsible adoption of artificial intelligence, analytics and intelligent automation within SAP services.
• Ensure technical and functional decisions consider long-term maintainability and total cost of ownership.
Partners and Alliances
• Develop effective working relationships with SAP and relevant technology partners.
• Manage specialized vendors and subcontractors supporting SAP delivery.
• Ensure third parties comply with Kyndryl’s quality, security, documentation and performance expectations.
• Monitor vendor dependencies and ensure critical knowledge and capabilities remain under appropriate control.
• Support the development of alliances that complement Kyndryl’s SAP capabilities.
Who You Are
Required Professional Experience
• 12+ years of professional experience in technology services, consulting or enterprise applications.
• 8+ years of experience working with SAP solutions and services.
• 5+ years of experience leading SAP delivery teams, programs, practices or service portfolios.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in at least two of the following areas: SAP S/4HANA implementations; SAP ECC to S/4HANA conversions or migrations; large-scale SAP Application Management Services; SAP transformation or modernization programs; regional or multinational SAP operations.
• Experience managing multiple projects, services or client accounts simultaneously.
• Experience with mission-critical SAP services, SLAs, L2/L3 support, on-call models and operational continuity.
• Demonstrated involvement in pre-sales, solution development, proposal preparation and estimation.
• Experience managing budgets, revenue, gross margin, delivery costs and financial forecasts.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams.
• Proven ability to engage with CIOs, CTOs and senior business executives.
• Advanced English and Spanish communication skills.
Preferred Experience
• Previous responsibility for an SAP practice, service tower, business unit or major service portfolio.
• Experience leading organizations of 50 or more professionals, including employees and subcontractors.
• Experience working with global delivery, nearshore and offshore models.
• Experience delivering services in Mexico, the United States or Latin America.
• Industry experience in retail, consumer products, manufacturing, financial services, energy or distribution.
• Experience with outcome-based, managed-services or multi-year delivery models.
• Proven experience recovering SAP programs or services with significant delivery challenges.
• Strong understanding of statements of work, SLAs, OLAs, responsibility matrices, contractual assumptions and acceptance criteria.
SAP and Technology Knowledge
The successful candidate should have sufficient experience to lead and challenge teams working across:
• SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, RISE with SAP and SAP Cloud ERP.
• SAP Finance and Controlling, Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report and Supply Chain processes.
• SAP Activate, SAP Business Technology Platform and SAP Integration Suite.
• APIs, middleware, ABAP, SAP Fiori and extensibility models.
• Clean core and fit-to-standard strategies.
• Data migration, conversion, quality and reconciliation.
• SAP Cloud ALM, SAP Solution Manager or equivalent application lifecycle management tools.
• Functional, integration, regression, performance and automated testing.
• DevSecOps, release management and transport management.
• SAP security, roles, authorizations and compliance controls.
• SAP Analytics Cloud, Datasphere, BW and related analytics platforms.
• Artificial intelligence and automation applied to SAP processes and operations.
The position does not require hands-on expertise in every SAP module or technology. However, the candidate must be able to understand the business, delivery, architecture, operational and contractual implications of proposed solutions.
Education and Certifications
Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• Advanced business English and Spanish.
Preferred
• Master’s degree or MBA.
• SAP S/4HANA, SAP Activate, SAP architecture or SAP BTP certification.
• PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe or equivalent project or program management certification.
• ITIL certification.
• Education or certification in financial, commercial or contract management.
