Our Consulting Delivery Hub (CDH) in India is a critical part of ERM’s global consulting model enabling scalable, high-quality delivery across regions and service lines. CDH teams work in close partnership with regional consultants to support global client projects, providing specialist expertise, driving consistency, and enhancing delivery efficiency across our most important programmes.

As part of the Consulting Delivery Hub, you will collaborate with colleagues worldwide, contribute to complex sustainability projects, and play a key role in shaping the future of global consulting delivery.

Why this role matters?

As a Consulting Senior Associate, Audit you will support ERM’s global consulting delivery by supporting audit engagements under direction, completing assigned audit tasks, maintaining evidence records and applying ERM methodologies consistently. You will work within EHS Audit in the Consulting Delivery Hub, partnering with regional consultants, audit team leads, client process owners and internal delivery teams to deliver accurate evidence, working papers and audit documentation. This role is critical to consistent delivery quality, reliable audit evidence and efficient support to global client programmes.


What your impact is?

  • Support delivery of ERM audit engagements that help clients shape a sustainable future. 

  • Assist with audit planning, logistics, checklists, protocols and working papers accurately and on time. 

  • Gather and record evidence, support sampling and testing, perform basic checks and flag exceptions early. 

  • Help draft findings and maintain organized evidence records that clearly support conclusions. 

  • Apply ERM and client health, safety, ethics and governance requirements, including independence expectations. 

  • Build core audit capability through structured learning, fieldwork exposure and knowledge sharing. 

What will you bring?

  • Entry-level experience or strong interest in audit, environmental compliance, EHS, sustainability, engineering or related consulting domain. 

  • Basic understanding of internal controls, audit concepts, evidence gathering and documentation discipline. 

  • Strong Excel, documentation, attention to detail and willingness to learn structured audit methods. 

  • Good communication skills and ability to work with global teams, regional consultants and client stakeholders. 

  • Ability to complete assigned tasks to deadlines and escalate issues clearly when support is needed. 

  • Willingness to travel for fieldwork where project requirements apply. 

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, sustainability, health & safety science, engineering or a related discipline; early-career EHS experience in consulting or industry.

  • Awareness of ISO and relevant EHS management -system standards. 

  • 1+ years of experience in Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), environmental compliance, environmental auditing or related consulting services.

Preferred skills & competencies

  • Working towards internal-auditor, EHS auditor or management-system auditor training. 

  • Exposure to EHS regulatory compliance audits or management-system assessments. 

  • Familiarity with audit checklists, protocols, working-paper systems, data tracking or basic automation tools. 

  • Interest in international and National standards and initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the Audit Team Lead in preparing audit documentation and planning logistics. 

  • Complete assigned checklists, protocols and working papers accurately and within agreed timelines. 

  • Gather, record and organize audit evidence against defined audit criteria. 

  • Support sampling and testing activities, perform basic checks and flag exceptions or gaps. 

  • Assist with drafting findings, observations and evidence summaries for team review. 

  • Maintain audit logs, findings trackers and evidence record in a clear and auditable manner. 

  • Support opening and closing meeting logistics, including notetaking where requested. 

  • Follow ERM and client health, safety, ethics, confidentiality and governance requirements.

  • Deliver high standards of work to meet and exceed internal client expectations.

  • Build meaningful internal and external client relationships.

  • Maintain audit logs, findings trackers and working-paper records within audit systems.

  • Support EHS regulatory compliance audits and management-system assessments under direction, within ERM's Safe & Sustainable Operations practice; exposure to high-hazard sectors (mining, oil & gas, petrochemicals, pulp & paper, power generation).

  • Exposure to supporting environmental compliance audits or management system audits for clients in North America (NA) and/or EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) is preferred.

  • Professional certifications such as ISO 14001:2015 Internal Auditor, ISO 45001:2018 Internal Auditor, ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor, or equivalent audit-related certifications are desirable.
