We are looking for a highly skilledย FPGA Implementation / Prototyping Engineerย to develop, implement, and optimize FPGA-based solutions that support complex ASIC and SoC development programs. This role is ideal for professionals with strong expertise inย FPGA Implementation,ย FPGA Prototyping, andย Synthesis, who are passionate about accelerating hardware validation and enabling early software development through robust FPGA platforms.
As an FPGA Implementation / Prototyping Engineer, you will work closely with RTL Design, Verification, Physical Design, and Software teams to build high-performance FPGA prototypes that accurately represent production silicon. You will be responsible for implementing complete FPGA design flows, resolving timing and resource utilization challenges, and optimizing designs for performance, scalability, and reliability. This position offers the opportunity to work on advanced semiconductor technologies while contributing to faster product validation and successful silicon bring-up.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement FPGA prototypes for complex ASIC and SoC designs to support hardware validation and early software development.
- Perform end-to-endย FPGA implementation, including synthesis, place-and-route, timing closure, bitstream generation, and hardware bring-up.
- Optimize FPGA resource utilization, timing performance, and power consumption to achieve project objectives.
- Collaborate with RTL, Verification, and Software teams to integrate design changes and ensure functional correctness of FPGA prototypes.
- Execute FPGA synthesis and implementation flows using industry-standard EDA tools while resolving implementation and timing issues.
- Debug functional, timing, and hardware issues through simulation, on-board testing, and FPGA debugging tools.
- Develop automation scripts to improve FPGA build flows, implementation efficiency, and regression execution.
- Support board-level integration, interface validation, memory initialization, and peripheral connectivity for FPGA platforms.
- Create technical documentation covering implementation flows, prototype architecture, debugging procedures, and best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvements in FPGA implementation methodologies and prototyping frameworks.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- 5+ years of experience inย FPGA Implementation,ย FPGA Prototyping, or digital hardware development.
- Strong hands-on expertise inย FPGA synthesis, implementation, timing closure, and hardware debugging.
- Experience with leading FPGA development tools such as Xilinx Vivado, AMD Vivado, Intel Quartus, or equivalent implementation environments.
- Solid understanding of RTL design concepts, Verilog/SystemVerilog/VHDL, FPGA architectures, and digital logic implementation.
- Experience optimizing timing, resource utilization, clocking, and performance across large FPGA designs.
- Familiarity with FPGA-based validation, board bring-up, high-speed interfaces, memory controllers, and hardware debugging tools such as ILA or SignalTap.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as TCL, Python, or Shell for flow automation and productivity improvements.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex implementation challenges.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with experience working across RTL, Verification, Software, and Hardware engineering teams.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, VLSI, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, with a passion for delivering high-quality FPGA-based hardware solutions.
