About The Role

Fora is hiring a Director of Consumer Insights to build our market intelligence and consumer research function from the ground up. This is a highly strategic role responsible for helping to create the processes, infrastructure, and systems that enable better decision-making across the company. Reporting into the Marketing organization, you will establish how research is planned, executed, shared, and applied across both marketing, product, and commercial initiatives.

As our first dedicated market research leader, this role will define the operating model for research at Fora while partnering closely with leaders across Product, Marketing, Business Development, Analytics, and executive leadership. The Director of Market Research will help answer our biggest business questions through a thoughtful mix of qualitative and quantitative research, ensuring customer insights are accessible, actionable, and embedded in how we build and grow.

This is a unique opportunity to shape a foundational capability at a company entering its next stage of growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and lead Fora's market research function, establishing the strategy, processes, and standards that enable high quality consumer and market insights across the organization.
  • Develop and own the research intake, prioritization, execution, and communication framework, ensuring research efforts align with company priorities and are consistently actionable.
  • Lead research initiatives across the company, including consumer segmentation, brand and product positioning, brand tracking, competitive intelligence, creative testing, and other strategic studies.
  • Design and execute rigorous qualitative and quantitative research programs, leveraging the appropriate methodologies to answer critical business questions.
  • Create and maintain a centralized, searchable repository for research findings, making insights easily accessible and useful across the organization.
  • Partner closely with Product, Marketing, Business Development, Analytics, and executive stakeholders to develop a cross functional research roadmap and influence strategic decision making.
  • Establish best practices for research design, including discussion guides, surveys, methodology selection, vendor management, and quality standards.
  • Evaluate, select, and manage external research partners to ensure efficient execution and strong return on investment.
  • Partner with internal data teams to combine market research with behavioral and operational data, creating a more complete understanding of customers and the business.
  • Continuously improve research operations by identifying opportunities to leverage AI and scalable tooling that reduce manual work while improving research quality and speed.
  • While this is an IC role today, we expect that this person will grow and manage a team in-line with Fora’s needs.

Requirements

  • Significant experience leading market research and consumer insights initiatives in high growth technology or consumer businesses
  • Demonstrated success building research functions, processes, or infrastructure from the ground up
  • Deep expertise across qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including study design, execution, analysis, and synthesis
  • Experience translating research into clear strategic recommendations that influence business decisions and product direction
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem solving skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Experience partnering effectively across Product, Marketing, Analytics, and executive stakeholders while influencing without direct authority
  • Track record managing external research agencies and vendors while maintaining high quality standards and efficient use of budget
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to make complex findings clear and actionable
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience working across both Brand and Product research within the same organization
  • Experience scaling research practices in a rapidly growing company, ideally across multiple stages of growth
  • Experience partnering with both large and small cross-functional organizations while thriving in an environment where processes are still being built
  • Travel industry experience is welcome but not required
