To achieve this ambitious vision, we’re assembling the best team in the world - dedicated to turning cutting-edge science into life-changing, real-world solutions.<br><br></em><strong>About This Role<br></strong>We’re looking for a Hardware Electronics Engineer to take ownership of the electronics platform that powers our next-generation biosensor devices. Working closely with the founders and a multidisciplinary team across firmware, mechanical, optical and systems, you’ll translate product goals into robust architectures and executable development plans, taking designs from early concepts through prototypes, verification and release.<br><br><strong>What You'll Do<br><br></strong><ul><li>Take technical ownership of the electronics architecture for our medical device, driving development from early concept through prototype, verification and product release</li><li>Design mixed-signal electronic systems, integrating optical modules, battery management, power electronics, motor drivers, user interface electronics and supporting sensors</li><li>Design schematic capture and multi-layer PCBs, selecting appropriate components and integrating commercial modules into robust product designs</li><li>Develop and validate battery charging, power management and low-power system architectures for portable medical devices</li><li>Design interfaces for miniature cameras, LEDs, pumps, motors and user interface hardware including buttons, indicators and status LEDs</li><li>Bring up, debug and validate prototype hardware using laboratory test equipment, identifying root causes and implementing robust design improvements</li><li>Work closely with firmware, mechanical, optical and systems engineers to ensure seamless hardware integration across the product</li><li>Plan and scope electronics development activities, identifying technical risks, defining development priorities and estimating work required to achieve project milestones</li><li>Own the electronics design documentation, including schematics, design calculations, test plans, verification reports and manufacturing documentation</li><li>Lead electronics risk management activities, maintaining Design FMEAs and supporting system-level risk analysis throughout product development</li><li>Work with PCB manufacturers, assembly houses and component suppliers to support prototype builds, design for manufacture (DFM) and design for test (DFT)</li><li>Identify and establish the laboratory equipment, software tools, suppliers and development processes required to build a world-class electronics function</li><li>Contribute as a hands-on individual contributor while helping shape the future electronics capability as the team grows<br><br><br><br></li></ul><strong>What You Bring<br></strong><strong>The ideal candidate must have:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Master's degree (or equivalent experience) in Electronic Engineering or a closely related discipline. With 3-5 years' industry experience developing electronic products from concept through prototype and into manufacture</li><li>Strong experience designing mixed-signal electronic systems including analogue, digital and power electronics</li><li>Experience with schematic capture and multi-layer PCB design using Altium Designer (or an equivalent ECAD package)</li><li>Experience selecting components, designing circuits and integrating commercially available modules into complete electronic systems</li><li>Experience designing battery-powered embedded systems including battery charging, power regulation and power management</li><li>Experience designing interfaces for motors, pumps, LEDs, cameras, sensors and other peripheral devices</li><li>Strong hardware debugging skills using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, power analysers and other laboratory equipment</li><li>Experience with PCB bring-up, fault finding and hardware verification</li><li>Understanding of EMC/EMI, signal integrity and design for reliability</li><li>Experience working with contract manufacturers and supporting PCB assembly and prototype builds</li><li>Experience planning technical work, managing electronics risks and taking ownership of engineering deliverables</li><li>Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team</li><li>A proactive mindset with a willingness to take ownership of challenging technical problems<br><br><br><br></li></ul><strong>Nice to have:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Experience developing electronics for medical devices or regulated products</li><li>Experience with optical systems including cameras, LEDs, photodiodes or imaging hardware</li><li>Experience designing motor driver circuits or fluidic/pump control systems</li><li>Experience with USB, USB-C or battery charging ICs</li><li>Familiarity with embedded firmware development and debugging</li><li>Knowledge of Design FMEA, Risk Management and Design Verification within regulated product development</li><li>Experience supporting Design for Manufacture (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Test (DFT)</li><li>Familiarity with standards such as IEC 60601, IEC 62304 or ISO 14971</li><li>Experience working closely with external PCB manufacturers, assembly partners and component suppliers</li><li>Prior work in a start-up or small company environment<br><br><br><br></li></ul><strong>Who You Are<br></strong>We value culture as much as we value technical expertise, creating an environment that’s equal parts collaboration, curiosity, and fun.<br><br>We’re a fast-paced, mission-driven young team on a quest to make a lasting impact, fueled by uncompromising integrity, unwavering support for one another, and the thrill of exploring uncharted territories.
