Medical Education Coordinator – Full-Time

Location: AdventHealth Shawnee Mission

Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift

Job Summary

Responsible for coordinating medical education initiatives that support the professional development and continuing education of licensed independent practitioners. This position manages projects related to provider education, patient satisfaction, leadership development, and medical staff educational activities. The Medical Education Coordinator plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates educational programs while utilizing available resources and strategies to achieve desired outcomes. This role supports effective communication, collaboration, and continuous learning across the organization and contributes to the overall success of medical education initiatives.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinates medical education programs and initiatives for licensed independent practitioners and medical staff members.

  • Plans, schedules, organizes, and evaluates educational activities, meetings, training sessions, and special events.

  • Supports provider education initiatives designed to enhance clinical practice, patient satisfaction, quality outcomes, and professional development.

  • Coordinates leadership development programs and educational opportunities for physicians and advanced practice providers.

  • Collaborates with physicians, medical staff leaders, clinical departments, and organizational leadership to identify educational needs and priorities.

  • Maintains educational calendars, records, databases, attendance documentation, and related program materials.

  • Assists with the development, preparation, and distribution of educational content, presentations, communications, and training materials.

  • Coordinates meeting logistics, including room reservations, technology support, materials preparation, and participant communications.

  • Monitors program effectiveness and gathers feedback to support continuous improvement of educational offerings.

  • Utilizes organizational resources and available tools to achieve program goals and objectives.

  • Maintains effective communication with stakeholders and serves as a liaison between medical staff, leadership, and supporting departments.

  • Participates in special projects, committee activities, and departmental initiatives as assigned.

  • Ensures compliance with organizational policies, accreditation standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with physicians, providers, leadership, and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to plan, organize, implement, and evaluate educational programs and events.

  • Ability to collect, maintain, and manage program data, records, and documentation.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

  • Ability to utilize available resources and problem-solving skills to achieve desired results.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment.

  • Knowledge of healthcare operations, medical staff functions, and educational program coordination preferred.

  • Working knowledge of multiple software applications, information systems, and technology platforms used in a healthcare environment preferred.

  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with providers, leaders, and team members.

Education

  • Associate Degree required.

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Field of Study

  • Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Education, Communications, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred.

  • Work Experience

  • Previous experience in healthcare, education coordination, project coordination, administrative support, or related field preferred.

Pay Range:
