What would you do? • Lead end-to-end Record to Report (RTR) delivery across general ledger, journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany, fixed assets, bank/cash accounting, close reporting, and audit support. • Own period-close governance for month-end, quarter-end, half-year, and year-end cycles, ensuring adherence to close calendars, SLAs, controls, reporting timelines, and stakeholder dependencies. • Act as a key client point of contact for RTR delivery, building trusted relationships with client SMEs and internal leadership while managing expectations, escalations, and timely resolution of issues. • Plan, execute, and monitor RTR milestones, risk actions, dependencies, transformation initiatives, and operational priorities aligned to client objectives and service delivery commitments. • Review financial outputs, journal postings, reconciliations, variance analysis, management reports, and audit evidence to ensure accuracy, completeness, and audit readiness. • Drive strategic problem solving by analysing process issues, identifying root causes, recommending solutions, and implementing sustainable improvements across RTR processes. • Lead standardisation, simplification, automation, analytics, and digital adoption opportunities across RTR, including automated reconciliations, close analytics, anomaly detection, and Gen AI-assisted reporting/commentary. • Build, mentor, and lead high-performing RTR teams by setting goals, managing performance, reviewing work quality, developing capability, and encouraging participation in team and leadership forums. • Support financial management and operational efficiency by reviewing productivity, resource utilisation, cost-efficiency levers, automation benefits, and capacity release opportunities. • Demonstrate executive presence through strong governance, escalation management, collaboration across ecosystems, and clear leadership-ready communication on close status, risks, actions, and improvement roadmap. Added Advantage - Digital, Automation & AI: • Exposure to automation, RPA, analytics, reconciliation tools, close management tools, anomaly detection, and Gen AI-assisted reporting or commentary will be a strong advantage. • • Ability to convert RTR process pain points into automation opportunities, measurable productivity improvements, stronger controls, reduced close cycle effort, cost efficiency, and better reporting insights
What are we looking for? Experience & Education • 10-14 years of experience in Record to Report (RTR) within Finance & Accounting, with strong exposure to close management, general ledger, reconciliations, intercompany accounting, fixed assets, cash accounting, and reporting. • Experience managing service delivery in BPO / shared services / global business services environments is preferred; retail / co-operative industry exposure is an added advantage. • Demonstrated experience in client relationship management, governance, people leadership, transformation, operational excellence, risk management, and audit support. • Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Accounting or MBA (Finance), CMA Inter, CA Inter, or equivalent finance qualification preferred. Process, Controls & Transformation Skills • Strong understanding of RTR controls, close governance, account reconciliation standards, journal controls, SLA/KPI management, audit requirements, and financial reporting timelines. • Ability to maintain close calendars, SOPs, RACIs, control checklists, reconciliation trackers, open item logs, issue logs, action plans, and leadership-ready governance updates. Experience in standardisation, simplification, process excellence, business problem solving, transformation, automation, analytics, transition support, UAT, and change adoption. Systems & Applications • Experience working on SAP HANA and relevant finance, reconciliation, close management, reporting, workflow, dashboarding, or automation tools is preferred. • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint; advanced Excel skills including pivots, lookups, formulas, reconciliations, and data analysis will be an added advantage. • Exposure to automated reconciliations, close analytics, anomaly detection, Power BI, RPA, and Gen AI-assisted reporting or commentary will be an added advantage. Roles and Responsibilities: • Lead and manage end-to-end RTR operations including journal processing, accruals, allocations, intercompany accounting, fixed assets, bank/cash accounting, GL activities, account reconciliations, close reporting, management reporting, and audit support. (As a Finance controller)• Lead close governance across month-end, quarter-end, half-year, and year-end cycles by tracking close-calendar adherence, dependencies, risks, SLAs, issue logs, and required stakeholder inputs.• Review balance sheet, bank, GL, cash, intercompany, fixed asset, and retail store-level reconciliations, ensuring completeness, quality, evidence, ageing analysis, reason codes, and timely resolution of open items.• Ensure accurate preparation, review, approval, and posting of journal entries with appropriate evidence, client approvals, maker-checker controls, segregation of duties, and policy compliance.• Perform and review P&L and balance sheet variance analysis, identify unusual movements, errors, omissions, or inconsistencies, and drive corrective actions before reporting deadlines.• Serve as the senior RTR SME and escalation point for complex accounting matters, close dependencies, reconciliation breaks, audit queries, policy interpretations, control issues, and cross-functional stakeholder dependencies.• Manage client relationships and governance forums by providing clear updates on close status, reconciliation health, performance trends, risks, escalations, decision points, and action plans.• Drive operational excellence by monitoring KPIs and SLAs including close timeliness, journal accuracy, reconciliation quality, aged/open items, query turnaround time, productivity, and first-time-right performance.• Identify process improvement opportunities and lead initiatives for standardisation, simplification, automation, dashboarding, close analytics, anomaly detection, and digital adoption across RTR.• Partner with Finance Transformation, IT, Treasury, Tax, Procurement, Operations, client SMEs, and third parties to resolve process issues, support system enhancements, UAT, transitions, and change adoption.BCom
