We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Director, Data Strategy — DSS Platform to join our Data Solutions and Services team. This role is located in New York, NY
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- As Director, Data Strategy — DSS Platform, you will lead product strategy across cross-platform initiatives enabled by the DSS Platform. You will partner across business, product, technology, data, and control teams to shape priorities, align roadmaps, and deliver scalable platform capabilities.
- Lead product strategy across DSS Platform-enabled initiatives: Shape cross-platform priorities, roadmaps, and deliverables enabled by the DSS Platform across Security Master, Product Master, and other enterprise data domains.
- Drive roadmap alignment across data domains: Partner with product, platform, and business stakeholders to identify common needs, reduce fragmentation, and prioritize reusable capabilities that support enterprise data objectives.
- Advance the data strategy pillars: Translate Resiliency, Quality, Governance, Accessibility, and Commerciality into actionable platform initiatives with clear outcomes, ownership, and delivery milestones.
- Own large-scale strategic deliverables: Lead high-impact workstreams across platform modernization, data quality improvement, governance simplification, data access enablement, and data product commercialization.
- Translate strategy into execution: Move initiatives from concept to delivery by defining product outcomes, sequencing work, managing dependencies, resolving execution barriers, and ensuring clear accountability.
- Enable senior stakeholder alignment: Develop roadmap updates, decision materials, executive narratives, and performance reporting to help leaders make informed decisions on DSS Platform priorities.
- Lead data strategy for the DSS Platform: define and own strategic priorities, roadmaps, investment themes, and execution plans aligned to Data Solutions and Services and enterprise objectives.
- Advance the data strategy pillars: develop and execute initiatives across Resiliency, Quality, Governance, Accessibility, and Commerciality, ensuring platform work is clearly linked to enterprise data priorities.
- Own large-scale platform deliverables: lead high impact workstreams across platform modernization, data quality improvement, governance simplification, access enablement, and commercialization of data capabilities.
- Translate strategy into execution: move initiatives from concept to delivery by defining outcomes, sequencing work, managing dependencies, resolving execution barriers, and ensuring clear ownership.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- 12 – 15 years of experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, enterprise transformation, product strategy, platform strategy, data strategy, or technology-enabled business transformation.
- Proven ability to own and deliver large-scale enterprise or platform initiatives with senior executive visibility and cross-functional complexity.
- Strong understanding of enterprise data platforms, data products, data governance, analytics, operating models, and platform modernization.
- Strong people leadership skills, including the ability to manage teams, coach talent, and raise the quality of strategic analysis and execution.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $127,000 and $225,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
