Technical Architect (m/f)
Job Description & Summary
Join PwC’s Advanced Technology Solutions team as a Technical Architect and help design scalable, secure, and production-ready data solutions across our Managed Data Services portfolio. This role is ideal for experienced architects and senior engineers who enjoy shaping architecture, staying close to implementation, and working across engineering and business teams to turn complex data challenges into robust cloud solutions.
We’re growing and opening multiple architecture opportunities across teams, including Solution Architect, System Architect, and Platform Architect roles. For this opening, we’re looking for a Technical Architect who can bridge high-level architecture and detailed engineering design—someone who is comfortable translating architecture into implementation-ready designs, validating decisions through hands-on work, and guiding teams through delivery in complex cloud data environments.
At PwC, AI proficiency is a core capability for modern technology professionals, helping deliver faster, higher-quality, and more innovative solutions. We use AI across software development, data engineering, cloud, automation, and analytics, with tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, and our own ChatPwC. Through collaborations with leaders like Microsoft and OpenAI, we bring state-of-the-art AI into everyday work. We expect candidates to actively use AI tools to boost productivity, improve problem-solving, and deliver scalable, high-impact solutions responsibly.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design: Develop architecture artifacts including C4 models, HLDs, LLDs, class diagrams, sequence diagrams, and data flow diagrams.
Hands-on Validation: Conduct POCs, explore new technologies and frameworks, and validate design decisions through hands-on technical execution.
Standards & Reusability: Define and maintain reference architectures, reusable patterns, and best practices for scalable and secure solutions.
Cross-team Alignment: Ensure consistency and a cohesive architectural vision across multiple teams; work closely with Solution Architects, PMs, Tech Leads, DevOps, SRE, and Operations.
Governance & Operational Readiness: Identify technical risks, support architecture governance and sign-off, maintain technical documentation, and ensure compliance with security and policy requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
Prior experience as a System Architect / Technical Architect, and 7+ years as a Developer
Strong software architecture and engineering background, with the ability to move from conceptual design into implementation detail
Hands-on expertise in C4 modeling and diagram-as-code tooling such as Structurizr, PlantUML, and Mermaid
Strong programming knowledge, ideally C#, with understanding of Dependency Injection, Clean Architecture, and Domain-Driven Design; Python is also relevant
Experience with cloud-native data platforms, particularly Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and Purview
Strong understanding of DevOps, SRE, and Operations practices in production environments
Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills; comfortable working independently and across cross-functional teams
