TECHNICAL DIRECTOR F/M
Job Description:
Mission: Drive and align the strategic direction for the engineering teams according to the needs of the business. Provide clear technical leadership and vision, inspire and motivate staff to achieve excellence and mentor them as they develop new skills. Build bridges and communication channels to the Airbus Helicopters teams and key stakeholders in other sites and drive the transnational integration.
Role:
- Overall responsibility for the Engineering areas in Airbus Helicopters Polska, which will include people and technical management.
- Responsibility for implementing engineering strategy and strategic operational goals to exceed expectations for quality, cost and delivery
- Cultivate an environment of continuous learning and advocate for the adoption of cutting-edge engineering tools to maximize efficiency.
- Collaborate with Managing Director and Management Board Members in elaborating and implementing the aligned strategy of Airbus Helicopters Engineering Polska
- Actively collaborate with the Airbus Helicopters Engineering in order to deliver high-quality services and promote the collaboration between the teams at different sites
- Act as an escalation point for operational topics
- Develop and align the Airbus Helicopters Engineering Polska strategy with key stakeholders
- Cultivate and uphold superior capabilities in project management and engineering skills & competences across the teams
Tasks:
- Work closely with the Airbus Helicopters leadership team located mainly in France, Germany and Spain
- Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budget process
- Prepare and monitor Engineering budget and forecasts and all Capital Expenditure proposals
- Drive Key Performance Indicators across all areas of the Engineering function to ensure that all projects are delivered on cost and on time to the highest quality standards.
- Ensure that engineering strategies and processes are in place for Airbus Helicopters Poland to meet Airbus Helicopters business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery targets
- Manage planning and prioritise to ensure that multi-disciplinary resource is well aligned to maximise delivery of projects according to the strategy
- Create and implement best practice engineering vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance in line with the overall Airbus Helicopters top company objectives and transformation
- Take ownership of the engineering policy, guidelines and any associated documents
- Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities
- Support project management to cross functional activity required for project execution
- Report on Engineering activities on a regular basis to the Managing Director
- Ensure quality and reliability standards are implemented and maintained
- Responsible for developing the appropriate organisational structure, resource plans and culture to support the business objectives
- Provide leadership, coordination, trainings and coaching to the team,
- Complete regular performance reviews, manage attendance,
- Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors

- Airbus and/or Airbus Helicopters knowledge is an advantage
Qualifications and Experience Levels:
- Educated to degree level (preferably Masters) in engineering science
- Demonstrable experience of leading an engineering function with a proven track record in engineering leadership delivering effective engineering strategies, policies, processes and systems
- At least 5 years of proven aeronautics engineering experience (design, stress calculations, testing or other engineering areas)
- Proven project management experience
- Proven experience in building business relations - positive feedback from internal clients, supervisors and colleagues as for the quality of the collaboration
- Knowledge and technical understanding of aviation processes, components and design techniques
- Perfect command of English and Polish, French and/or German will be a plus
- Understanding of Polish Business reality - proven experience in performing managing function in Poland
