What You’ll Do
As a Metrology Technician Jr., you’ll be part of our Mission team located in Mission, TX. You’ll get to:
- Perform technical layouts of components and assemblies utilizing existing CMM programs, fixtures and set-ups
- Perform minor manual set-up checks using CMM equipment
- Conduct technical layouts using height gauges, micrometers, calipers, gauge blocks, and other standard precision measuring instruments in a laboratory environment.
- Read blueprints and interpret technical drawings with appropriate technical support.
- Operate laboratory inspection equipment under supervision.
- Use applicable systems to access drawings, inspection requirements, requester information, and upload measurement reports.
- Execute existing CMM programs and make minor changes to existing programs under supervision.
- Perform calibration of inspection tools, including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and similar equipment.
- Maintain the gauge tracking program, generate the monthly list of gauges due for calibration, follow up on calibration status, and maintain calibration records.
- Maintain 5S standards for equipment and workstations.
- Follow assigned priorities and complete tasks accordingly.
- Comply with all applicable safety rules and procedures.
- Load measurement data and related information into FPI final reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.
Who You Are

- Minimum of 1-year experience in related metrology, quality, inspection or manufacturing role.
- High School Diploma/GED required. Technical degree, certificate, or vocational training in metrology, quality, manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Familiarity with basic laboratory measurement and testing equipment
- Able to read and comprehend schematics, diagrams, drawings layouts, manuals, and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a Team environment
- Must be flexible to rotate shifts as required when different scenarios arise.
- Ability to work independently in assigned tasks while following direction and supervision as needed
- Flexible, adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to work overtime during the weekdays and weekends as needed.
