Job Summary

The Engineer / Assistant Engineer – Testing is responsible for supporting the coordination and execution of product and material testing activities to ensure compliance with customer specifications, internal standards, and project requirements. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams and external agencies to assist in planning, monitoring, and completing testing activities in line with established procedures.

The position focuses on execution of routine and project-based testing tasks, including test coordination, documentation, and system-related activities, under general supervision. It involves compiling test data, performing basic analysis, and supporting timely reporting of results. The role also includes coordination with third-party laboratories, maintaining testing records, and ensuring smooth day-to-day testing operations.

This role contributes to maintaining workflow and productivity within the testing function, while developing technical skills and knowledge. It is suitable for entry-level engineers or diploma holders with relevant experience, with scope to take on increased responsibility in testing coordination, execution, and analysis as experience develops.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Support the development and tracking of testing schedules in line with project requirements 
  2. Work under general supervision on routine and assigned testing tasks, following established procedures 
  3. Coordinate with Production, QC, Logistics, and Engineering teams to ensure readiness for testing activities 
  4. Assist in the execution of in-house testing activities (e.g., burst tests, hydrostatic tests, survival tests, and material qualification tests) as per defined procedures 
  5. Monitor testing progress and update status to support timely completion 
  6. Identify and escalate issues during testing execution to senior engineers 
  7. Assist senior engineers in basic root cause analysis for test failures 
  8. Compile test data and prepare draft test reports 
  9. Perform basic checks on test data to identify abnormalities and highlight for review 
  10. Maintain test logs, reports, and documentation in line with company procedures 
  11. Provide support to the product engineering team and assist with ad-hoc testing activities as required 

System Management:

  • Support creation, updating, and closure of engineering/testing orders (EMO) in internal systems
  • Ensure timely and accurate entry of system-related data
  • Coordinate with external laboratories and third-party inspection agencies for testing and witnessing activities
  • Support procurement and tracking of testing consumables
  • Assist in ensuring testing equipment calibration requirements are maintained.
  • Coordinate routine third-party witnessed testing activities as required
  • Provide guidance to technicians during testing activities under supervision

HSE: 

  • Adhere to all HSE guidelines and policies all the time.

 

JOB REQUIREMENT

  1. Diploma or Bachelor in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Oil and gas, or closely related field) 
  2. 3-4 years for candidates with Diploma degree ; 1-2 years for candidates with Bachelor in Engineering degree
  3. Experience in manufacturing, QC, pressure testing environment. 
  4. Exposure to QMS, Document control procedures. 
  5. Ability to perform basic engineering calculations under guidance.
  6. Any specialization certifications like PLC, 6 Sigma, NDT, LOTO, other similar related certifications.  
  7. Basic working knowledge of CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
  8. Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Syteline, Oracle, Teamcenter)

Mandatory Skills

  • Ability to read, write, communicate in English. 
  • Computer literacy (Experience in MS Excel, MS Word)
  • Fundamental understanding of mechanical principles
