Referral Coordinator
Remarkable Between Patient Care!
Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a customer-focused Referral Coordinator to serve as a key connection between patients and their healthcare team. In this role, you'll provide exceptional service by handling all aspects of the referral process, including authorizations and follow-up.
What You'll Do:
- Contact insurance companies and obtains authorization for specific plans.
- Educate patients and staff with pertinent referral and insurance information.
- Obtains urgent authorizations same day and next day.
- Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments.
- Answer questions, route calls appropriately, and relay messages to clinical staff.
- Verify patient registration and insurance information.
- Support referrals, authorizations, and patient outreach activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
- Test tracks the referrals until fulfilled by the patient.
General Requirements:
- EDUCATION: High School Diploma
- CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE: None
- MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 years’ experience with insurance referrals, prior authorization or other relevant medical office experience.
