QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR – MANUFACTURING

In this hands-on role, you will help protect product quality by inspecting incoming and outgoing wire, completing quality-control measurements, identifying product discrepancies, calibrating testing equipment, and ensuring materials meet established specifications before shipment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
As a Quality Control Inspector, you will support both quality and production operations. Your responsibilities will include:
• Visually inspect incoming and outgoing wire for defects, damage, or other discrepancies.
• Complete required quality-control measurements using established inspection methods and equipment.
• Operate measurement equipment accurately and document inspection results.
• Perform daily calibration checks on gram scales and other assigned testing equipment.
• Read and follow product requirements contained in Method Masters and related production documentation.
• Identify different wire types, reel sizes, and product specifications.
• Tag, identify, and process reels of wire accurately.
• Collect materials from the final inspection area and support the processing of discrepant materials.
• Weigh and tag scrap boxes at the end of each shift and replace them with empty containers.
• Supply production lines with the correct feedstock and production materials.
• Back up production lines with the appropriate feedstock based on Method Master requirements.
• Maintain organized feedstock and reel-storage areas.
• Store materials using proper signage, designated inventory lanes, and First In, First Out practices.
• Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Move reels and materials without damaging the product or equipment.
• Complete required forklift safety inspections and checklists.
• Enter inspection, material, and product information into company computer systems.
• Follow all established safety, quality, and operating procedures.
• Communicate daily with supervisors, operators, and employees on other shifts to ensure operational priorities are met.
• Assist with on-the-job training for employees assigned to the department.
• Support Lean manufacturing and continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Contribute ideas that improve safety, quality, efficiency, on-time delivery, and cost performance.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous quality-control, inspection, manufacturing, production, or material-handling experience is preferred.
• Experience using measurement or inspection equipment is preferred.
• Ability to recognize product defects and follow detailed specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Basic computer and data-entry skills.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, Method Masters, and production documentation.
• Ability to manage time-sensitive responsibilities and production priorities.
• Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Strong record of safety, quality, reliability, and attendance.

SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION
• Pay: $20.00 per hour.
• Full-time, 1st-shift schedule.
• Work hours: 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Work is performed in a manufacturing plant environment.
• Approximately 60%–70% of working time may be spent on the production floor.
• The position requires frequent standing and walking.
• Must be able to lift or move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to safely work around manufacturing equipment and operate assigned material-handling equipment.
