Vice President of Operations, West Region
Zarminali Pediatrics is building the nation's leading pediatric multispecialty group, focused on supporting families to shape healthy futures for their children – from birth through adulthood – by completely transforming the way pediatric care is delivered nationwide. We are tackling today's challenges of increased administrative burden on clinicians and a siloed approach to pediatric care through intentional design of care delivery, enhanced by leading technology and collaborative, expert care teams.
Our name, inspired by our founder's daughter's name – Zarmina – means “something that is more precious to you than gold”. We couldn’t think of anything that better represents the way parents and caregivers hold the relationship with their children as the most valuable gift, and how we at Zarminali approach care for each child with equal reverence.
We strive for a healthier future for pediatric patients and a happier future for pediatric clinicians nationwide, and we are looking for people to join us in achieving this vision. If you are eager to join a growth stage company and be part of the early team that is shaping the foundation of both the company and the delivery of pediatric care, then this opportunity might be for you!
Zarminali Pediatrics is seeking a Vice President of Operations to lead and scale our West Region for one of the fastest-growing pediatric platforms in the country. This is a senior leadership role for an executive who will own full P&L accountability while driving the operational strategy, market expansion, and clinical-operational alignment that will define our next phase of growth.
This role requires the VP to be based in Colorado in order to provide direct, hands-on support to that market — regular in-market presence, close visibility into clinic-level performance, and personal involvement in Colorado's day-to-day operations and growth activity. The VP will otherwise operate at the strategic altitude expected of a VP across the full region: shaping enterprise strategy, partnering with the executive team, and representing the region's performance and priorities at the highest levels of the organization.
The VP will oversee the Directors of Operations and Practice Managers across the West Region and will be the single point of executive accountability for every clinic, market, and dollar within it — with hands-on, in-person accountability specifically for Colorado's operations.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Regional Financial Performance
- Hold full P&L accountability with direct responsibility for revenue growth, cost management, margin performance, and EBITDA across all markets and sub-regions
- Maintain a deeper, more direct level of financial ownership in Colorado specifically — reviewing clinic- and market-level performance personally and frequently, given your in-market presence there
- Set the annual operating plan, budget, and performance targets in partnership with Finance and executive leadership
- Build and enforce a rigorous KPI, dashboard, and performance management infrastructure that creates accountability from the clinic level up through your leadership team across every market
- Serve as the executive voice on the financial and operational performance to the leadership team
Lead, Build & Develop a Multi-Layered Leadership Team
- Directly manage and develop the Directors of Operations, who in turn lead Practice Managers across all West Region clinics
- Build the leadership bench strength required to sustain rapid, compounding growth across the region
- Set the performance culture for the entire region: clear expectations, decisive management, and swift action on underperformance at every layer of the organization
- Maintain a visible, hands-on presence specifically in Colorado, given your base there — this market benefits from regular, direct engagement with Practice Managers and frontline clinic teams, not just oversight through the Director layer
- Balance regional executive responsibilities with the day-to-day realities of being on the ground in Colorado — this role is structured so you lead the full region while staying close to the operations of the market where you're based
Own Regional Strategy, Expansion & Integration
- Serve as the senior executive owner of growth strategy across the region — de novo launches, acquisitions, and new market entry
- Lead integration of acquired practices in Colorado directly, and oversee (via your Director team) integration activity in other West Region markets
- Evolve and refine the playbooks used for market expansion across the region, incorporating first-hand, on-the-ground learnings from your direct involvement in Colorado
- Represent the West Region's operational readiness and risk profile in enterprise-level expansion planning and capital allocation decisions
Drive Clinical & Operational Alignment Across the Region
- Partner directly with clinical leadership to ensure clinical and operational priorities are fully aligned across every clinic in the West Region
- Own the patient access, outcomes, and clinician engagement metrics for the region as enterprise-level KPIs, with direct, personal visibility into Colorado's performance given your in-market presence
- Ensure consistency in care delivery and patient experience across all sites, while using market-level judgment on where local variation is warranted
- Act as the executive escalation point for cross-functional issues between Operations, Clinical, People, Finance, and Growth across the region
Set the Standard for Operational Excellence
- Translate enterprise operating strategy into a West Region execution plan, and hold the region to it
- Champion standardized systems and processes while retaining the authority to make market-level exceptions where data supports it
- Use performance data continuously to identify what's working, kill what isn't, and reallocate resources accordingly across the region
- Bring an ownership mentality to every dimension of the region — financial, operational, cultural, and clinical
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- 15+ years of progressive healthcare operations leadership, including at least 7–8 years at the VP or equivalent senior executive level
- Demonstrated, sustained P&L ownership for a business unit, region, or market generating $75M–$150M+ in annual revenue for a minimum of five years
- Proven experience leading through layers — managing Director- or Manager-level leaders who themselves manage teams, not just individual site leaders
- A data-first executive leadership style — fluent in using KPIs, financial indicators, and market analytics to set strategy, drive performance, and communicate results to executive stakeholders
- Extensive experience in a PE-backed, high-growth, or platform-scaling healthcare environment, with a track record of leading through multiple growth cycles
- Substantial, hands-on M&A and integration experience — having personally led the onboarding of multiple acquired practices, including culture integration and retention through transition
- Multi-site healthcare operations experience required, with strong preference for primary care, pediatrics, urgent care, or ambulatory care settings
- Requires being based in Colorado to provide direct, in-market support to that clinic footprint, while also traveling as needed to other West Region markets — this is an executive role that requires direct engagement with clinics, not management from a distance
- Executive-level communication skills — able to represent market performance and strategy to senior leadership, ownership, and board-level stakeholders with clarity and confidence
- Entrepreneurial, ownership-driven mindset — you run the region like it's your own business, because in every way that matters, it is
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree (MBA, MHA, or equivalent) strongly preferred
WHAT WE OFFER
- A defining executive leadership role in scaling one of the most ambitious pediatric platforms in the country, with full ownership of the West Region
- Direct, high-visibility accountability for regional performance, growth strategy, and enterprise-level outcomes
- Close, ongoing partnership with executive leadership and direct input into enterprise strategy
- A fast-paced, performance-driven environment where strong execution is recognized and rewarded at the highest level
- Market-competitive executive compensation, equity/incentive potential, and a comprehensive benefits package
