As a Manager, Business Development, you will own the day-to-day performance, coaching, and development of our Business Development Representative (BDR) team. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Business Development, you will formalize this function, integrate best-practice lead-development motions with Marketing and Sales, and build a repeatable, standardized BDR motion. You will manage a team of 10-12 BDRs, with 12 reports on day one.
In this role, you will:
Directly manage and coach a team of 10-12 BDRs through weekly 1:1s, pipeline reviews, and call/message coaching
Set clear goals and hold reps accountable to activity, pipeline, and quota targets, role-modeling our EAGER values
Formalize and integrate best-practice lead-development motions with Marketing and Sales into a repeatable, standardized BDR motion
Own hiring, onboarding, and ramp for new BDRs, and manage performance, including recognition and, when needed, performance management
Partner with the other BDR managers and cross-functional leaders in Marketing, Demand Gen, and RevOps to keep the team aligned with pipeline goals
Report on team and individual performance to BD leadership, and adjust coaching and process based on what the data shows
Carry field insight upstream to Marketing and Demand Gen, and bring campaign and product context back down to the reps
Qualifications
5+ years of B2B sales experience, including 2+ years of direct people management experience leading BDR/SDR or outbound sales teams. Proven track record of coaching high-performing teams, driving pipeline generation, and developing reps through promotion while engaging Director, VP, and C-level buyers.
Prior experience formally or informally coaching, training, or leading peers, with the peer credibility to earn respect from tenured reps
Demonstrated Achiever and Relator talents: sets aggressive goals and drives to them, while building real relationships with individual reps
Analytical fluency: comfortable managing a team to a scorecard and tying activity metrics to pipeline and revenue outcomes
Fluency with CRM and sales automation tools (e.g., Salesforce, Outreach, Sales Nav, ZoomInfo) for pipeline management and reporting
Strong grasp of value-based selling and SaaS business models, and how they translate into coaching frontline reps
Proactive and self-directed, with a track record of building systems and closing gaps without being asked
Has a demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal guidance, proactively manages priorities across multiple reps and projects, and thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment

Superhuman takes a market-based approach to compensation, so base pay may vary by location. Our US locations are categorized into two compensation zones based on proximity to our hub locations.
Base pay may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The expected “On Target Earnings” (OTE) for this role are outlined and may be modified in the future.

$167,000 - $242,000/year (USD)
Commissions are 30% of total sales. The market-based compensation differentials will be applied only to base pay for commission-eligible team members.
