GENERAL FUNCTION: Position reserved for leaders of a Treasury departmental function. Works in conjunction with the Assistant Treasurer and/or Treasurer to develop function's strategic plan and leads function through execution. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Accountable for the performance and results of function. Typically aligned to one of the following departmental functions: Asset/Liability, Funding/Liquidity, Investment Portfolio, or Structured Finance.
Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank’s risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves in a senior decision-making role for one of the following departmental functions:
Asset/Liability Function
- Leads the measuring, reporting, and managing for NII modeling and the interest rate risk position of the Bancorp.
- Responsible for partnering with senior leaders to develop and execute strategies that reduce risk and improve net interest income.
- Works to improve the modeling and data management capabilities to ensure accuracy.
- Employs the use of ALM, QRM and other models to create a comprehensive assessment of the Bancorp’s risk / return profile.
Funding/Liquidity Function
- Oversees wholesale funding, liquidity, and assist in the execution of the Bancorp’s capital plan.
- Responsible for coordinating and raising money market and term funding for the Bancorp and Affiliates.
- Responsible for developing robust risk management metrics consistent with the risk appetite set by the Board of Directors.
- Develops and executes strategies, tactics and transactions related to wholesale funding, liquidity, and capital management in accordance with the overall Bancorp strategy and establish risk appetite.
Investment Portfolio Function
- Directs day-to-day activity in the Bancorp’s investment portfolio.
- Develops strategy for the portfolio.
- Manages the purchase and sale of securities for the Bancorp
- Provides strategic input to overall balance sheet management and asset liability decisions.
- Develops and executes balance sheet hedge strategy and activity
- Responsible for directing MSR hedging activity and helping to develop strategy for the MSR asset.
- Works with the Mortgage Company and the MSR Risk Committee to develop optimal risk management strategy for the MSR asset.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Potentially responsible for an area or department within the function. May lead and manage a professional staff. In a supervisory capacity, the employee would be responsible for: providing employees timely, candid, and constructive performance feedback; developing employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth; developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Economics required. Advanced degree and professional designation, such as a CFA, preferred.
- Typically requires 10 years or more of Treasury-related experience in at least one functional area: Asset/Liability, Funding/Liquidity, or Investment Portfolio.
- For those aligned to the Asset / Liability function, experience with Asset / Liability management, risk management, investment analysis, or forecasting & planning required.
- For those aligned to the Funding / Liquidity function, experience with institutional money, capital, and derivative markets products required.
- For those aligned to the Investment Portfolio function, experience with fixed income portfolio management and analysis with emphasis on mortgage-backed securities required.
- Financial services / banking industry experience preferred. Strong analytical, modeling, and database skills and experience required. Experience with ALM modeling software required (QRM preferred) for those aligned to Asset/Liability function.
- Knowledge of Treasury & Funds Management, money markets, fixed income/capital markets, and derivatives.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and become proficient with computer software, analytical and data base management tools. Experience leading functional teams and projects required; experience managing a professional staff preferred.
- Proven ability to independently manage multiple assignments and demonstrated initiative.
- Demonstrated proficiency in critical thinking, leadership, business acumen, relationship building and teamwork.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.

The base salary for this position is reflective of the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the U.S. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on factors such as role, relevant skillset, relevant experience, education and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan, with any such payment based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance.
