What is the Opportunity?

We're looking for an experienced Director of Finance to join our Strategy, Products & Digital Investing (SP&DI) sub-segment within Wealth Management. This is a newly formed, high-impact team working at pace to support critical financial planning, reporting, and strategic decision-making for one of RBC's fastest-growing business areas. You'll work directly with senior executives (SVP and EVP level), drive financial strategy and efficiency initiatives, and help shape how we measure and optimize AI and digital investments across the organization.

What Will You Do?

  • Producing thorough, accurate and timely management reports for the Strategy, Products, Digital Investing (SP&DI) sub-segment within Wealth Management (WM)
  • Driving the annual planning process and the monthly forecast process for SP&DI including analysis and review of financial information, key business drivers and impact of projects/programs
  • Managing the allocations process for SP&DI costs including monthly processing of actuals, annual processing of plan, analysis and communication of allocation drivers to the WM businesses
  • Support decision-making including development of financials for business cases/PARs and the tracking of committed benefits $ for projects/programs in SP&DI and those with horizontal impact across WM
  • Support initiatives across WM including cost management/efficiency tracking, quarterly business review, project portfolio tracking, benchmarking including liaising with businesses and finance team across WM, enterprise PM, investor relations
  • Support financial control team in execution of control activities
  • Execute above objectives for legacy business financials, WM M&O
  • Overseeing and evaluating the activities of the team and providing guidance for their professional development
  • Drive the use of AI and digital tools to achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness in execution of above objectives

What Do You Need to Succeed?

Must-Have

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in finance advisory roles
  • Professional designation including, CPA, CFA, MBA or equivalent
  • Financial services and/ or banking experience, wealth management preferred
  • Strategic storyteller with strong finance acumen; ability to communicate complex financial narratives to executive audiences
  • Strong grasp of balance sheet mechanics and accounting fundamentals
  • Exceptional attention to detail with ability to deliver monthly on all commitments
  • Inspirational people leadership skills, the ability to lead an agile team
  • A proactive, consultative nature, acting a a true co-pilot to the business

Nice-to-Have

  • Data visualization tools - Power BI or Tableau experience
  • SQL, Python, or VBA proficiency
  • Experience in organizational planning or strategic cost management
