You'll work as part of a specialist team responsible for microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, and maintaining the highest standards of laboratory compliance.What you'll be doingIn this role, you'll support the day-to-day activities of our microbiology laboratory, ensuring testing and monitoring activities are carried out accurately and in compliance with GMP standards.Key responsibilities include:Performing microbiological testing, including:Growth Promotion Testing (GPT)Environmental MonitoringMicrobial identification using conventional methods and MALDI-TOF technologyReviewing, evaluating and trending microbiological test results where applicableMaintaining laboratory cleanliness and housekeeping standardsCarrying out routine laboratory cleaning in line with schedules and operational requirementsPerforming equipment maintenance checks and coordinating calibration and servicing activities with external providersManaging stock levels of critical laboratory consumables and reagentsAccurately recording data and maintaining laboratory documentationEnsuring compliance with MHRA Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations and infection prevention and control requirementsSupporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining a safe, organised working environmentWho we're looking forWe're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual who enjoys working in a structured laboratory setting and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.You'll bring:Strong attention to detail and accuracyGood organisational and interpersonal skillsCompetent IT skills, including Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a teamStrong data entry and document management skillsA willingness to learn new skills and develop scientific knowledgePrevious experience within a laboratory or pharmaceutical environmentUnderstanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)Knowledge of microbiology techniques, including:Aseptic techniqueCulturing and plating methodsMicroscopyExperience adhering to biosafety requirements and laboratory regulationsWhat's in it for you?The opportunity to work within a growing and innovative healthcare organisationExposure to advanced microbiology testing techniques and technologiesOngoing training and development opportunitiesA supportive team environment where your contribution directly impacts patient safety and product qualityThe chance to build a rewarding career within pharmaceutical manufacturing and quality assuranceAt Sciensus, we're committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
