Job Description

The Procurement Excellence Manager is a member of the Procurement Center of Excellence and helps shape how procurement capabilities and processes are built across Global Procurement. This role combines strategy and implementation, with a focus on category management excellence, supplier relationship management, and access to third-party innovation across selected spend categories. You will partner with category leaders and procurement teams across global roles to strengthen end-to-end procurement process excellence and support Takeda’s long-term business goals.

This role also owns the integrated Category Management, Supplier Relationship Management, Sourcing, Supplier Segmentation, and Preferred Supplier operating and delivery models and frameworks, ensuring internal standards and overall consistency. You will drive the embedding of procurement excellence across assigned strategic programs, measure adoption, identify gaps, and lead interventions to strengthen execution. In close collaboration with the Procurement Capabilities team, you will also support change management planning and practices across programs.

How you will contribute:

  • Develop and improve procurement capabilities, tools, templates, content, and ways of working to support category management and supplier relationship management
  • Own and maintain the integrated Category Management, Supplier Relationship Management, Sourcing, Segmentation, and Preferred Supplier operating and delivery models and frameworks
  • Act as a subject matter expert for selected global procurement process areas and support end-to-end process excellence
  • Provide input and guidance to Global Category Leaders as they develop and execute category strategies
  • Drive the embedding of procurement excellence across strategic programs by measuring adoption, identifying gaps, and leading interventions
  • Maintain and further develop a standard approach to category management, supplier segmentation, and the Supplier Performance and Innovation Framework
  • Coordinate with partners to ensure risk and environmental, social, and governance topics are reflected in procurement frameworks and delivery models
  • Coach category teams, the value delivery team, and the enterprise supplier partnership team on framework application
  • Own content, templates, and the capability curriculum, working in collaboration with the Procurement Capabilities team
  • Incorporate change management plans and practices into programs, working in collaboration with the Procurement Capabilities team
  • Identify tools and technology that support key performance indicator management, process monitoring, and reporting
  • Ensure procurement excellence processes and systems are fit for purpose, compliant, and aligned with business needs
  • Build and maintain governance routines that support clear decision making and strong sponsorship for procurement activities
  • Work closely with internal partners across functions and regions to support smooth information flow and aligned process execution
  • Contribute to global plans for supplier risk and environmental, social, and governance topics
  • Coach and support colleagues within the Procurement Center of Excellence to strengthen the overall procurement excellence framework


Skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • More than 10 years of strategic and operational procurement experience across direct and or indirect categories
  • More than 12 years of overall business experience, (pharma experience as an asset)
  • More than 5 years of experience managing procurement managers and professionals
  • Proven experience leading cost reduction and value improvement programs
  • Master of Business Administration preferred
  • More than 12 years of purchasing and strategic sourcing experience, including services, contract negotiations, and supplier management programs
  • Professional certifications or memberships such as Certified Purchasing Manager, Certified Professional Accountant, or Institute for Supply Management  are preferred

You frequently interact with equivalent-level managers and customer representatives, conducting briefings and technical meetings. Operating independently, you provide guidance in the most complex situations, lead functional teams or projects, and serve as a best practice and quality resource.

zł272,200.00 - zł374,330.00
