Job ID: P143859-2820Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARYThis paragraph summarizes the general nature, level and purpose of the job.As a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, the clinical pharmacist provides consistent clinical, consultative, research, and/or administrative pharmaceutical services for critical care, oncology/hematology, other advanced practice areas or participate as part of the rounding team for acute care areas. Clinical Pharmacists II select, compound, dispense, drugs, medicines, and other therapeutic agents; may serve as members and consultants on treatment or diagnostic teams; consult with nursing staff and physicians regarding medication orders; disseminate drug information to members of the hospital staff and interested community groups; may participate in hospital research projects or perform pharmaceutical research; provide recommendations to Clinical Research Pharmacists and Pharmacy management regarding new drug requests and non-formulary applications. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThe essential functions listed are typical examples of work performed by positions in this job classification.
