Assistant Event Operations Manager

California. The Stockton Complex is in the fast lane for opportunity and excitement. We are seeking a unique Assistant Event Operations Manager to join our Event Operations team. Under general supervision, the Assistant Event Operations Manager coordinates with the Event Operations & Security Manager on all event preparation and performance aspects related to the facility. Acts as liaison between the facility and clients, ensuring all clients’ requirements are met and facility rules, regulations and policies are adhered to.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following:
- Manage all aspects of facility operations: front and back-of-house, preventive maintenance, third-party contracting, staffing, venue setup/tear-down at all Stockton Complex Venues.
- Hire, train and supervise Full time, part-time and temporary staff.
- Assists the Operations Manager and director in directing, supervising and scheduling all aspects of operations, including buildings; technical services; event services, including ADA compliance; public safety; security; and custodial services.
- Coordinates the operations activities with other building departments and show-related contractors.
- Implement facility rules, regulation policies and procedures.
- Anticipate problems and appropriate solutions. Investigates, analyzes and resolves operational problems and complaints.
- Provide clear, concise, and timely communication of directives to other departments.
- Ensures that operations department receives pertinent information for most effective use of the facility and staffing.
- Assures facility readiness and smooth operation of events.
- Inputting Purchase Requisitions
- Responsible for the Master MSDS log in the building.
- Other duties as assigned
Supervisor Responsibilities
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include Working with Event Operations & Security Manager on interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

- Possess knowledge of the principles of facility management, building operations, maintenance, practices, and safety requirements.

- Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and two (2) years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CAD and Adobe Illustrator experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
- Good written, verbal and computer skills.
- Work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work long and irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include day, evening, weekends, and holidays.
Computer Skills
- Operate standard office equipment and personal computer(s) using Outlook, MS Windows, Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Scheduling software (ABI Mastermind)
Other Qualifications
- Be licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.

Compensation
Annual salary of $72,000 and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability
insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.
