Job Description
As a Security Officer - Logistics Site in West Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will monitor entry points, manage badge access, conduct routine patrols, and help to deter security-related incidents. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while supporting a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. - Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Verify identification, credentials, delivery appointments, and authorization for personnel, visitors, and vehicles entering or exiting the facility, following established access-control procedures.
- Monitor access points, gate activity, and incoming and outgoing traffic; maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and incident documentation as required by site policies.
- Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters to appropriate personnel when needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas, including entrances, gates, parking areas, loading zones, and the facility perimeter, to help deter unauthorized activity.
Minimum Requirements:
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
