About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to join Pearson’s English Language Learning HR team in Brazil. This is a strategic and highly visible role for someone who enjoys partnering closely with leaders, translating business priorities into people plans, and helping shape a positive employee experience.
You will play an important role in supporting HR initiatives for Brazil, working across local and global teams to ensure people programs are delivered with clarity, consistency, and strong business alignment.
This is a great opportunity for a commercially minded HR professional who can combine strong knowledge of Brazilian employment practices with the ability to influence, advise, and build trusted relationships in a matrixed environment.
Key Responsibilities:

- Act as an HR Business Partner for defined client groups, advising leaders on workforce planning, talent, succession, performance, engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
- Support Brazil-wide people priorities and strategic initiatives in partnership with the Brazil Country Ambassador and relevant local and global stakeholders.
- Lead and contribute to key HR initiatives for Brazil, including workforce transitions, policy rollouts, system implementations, process improvements, and other people-related projects.
- Translate global HR strategies and programs into practical, locally relevant approaches aligned with Brazilian employment practices and business needs.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, Country Care, Legal, Reward, and HR Operations to support consistent, compliant, and employee-friendly HR processes.
- Provide guidance on complex people matters, policy interpretation, and employee relations topics, ensuring operational cases are routed through the appropriate teams.
- Bring a commercial HR perspective to decision-making, connecting people priorities to business performance, risk, employee experience, and long-term organizational needs.
- Promote a collaborative “One HR” approach by encouraging clarity, shared accountability, process discipline, and continuous improvement across HR teams.
Required skills and experience:
Solid experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist, ideally supporting complex client groups in Brazil.
Fluent English and Portuguese, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
Strong knowledge of Brazilian employment law and HR compliance.
Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand business priorities and translate them into practical people strategies.
Confidence partnering with senior stakeholders, influencing decisions, and building trusted relationships in a matrixed environment.
Experience working across HR centers of expertise and specialist teams to deliver consistent, high-quality people solutions.
Experience supporting key people processes such as workforce planning, talent and succession, performance, engagement, and organizational change.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead or support complex HR initiatives from planning through execution.
Ability to bring clarity to ambiguous situations, challenge constructively, and make sound recommendations based on business context, people impact, and risk.
