The Data Management team is responsible for developing, governing, and operationalizing IQVIA Digital's industry-leading healthcare and consumer data assets, which serve as the foundation for our products, analytics, business intelligence, and AI-enabled solutions. Working closely with Product and Technology teams, the organization ensures the quality, integrity, security, and scalability of data across the ecosystem. Leveraging robust data management practices and a privacy-by-design foundation, the team transforms complex data into trusted assets and actionable insights that drive innovation, inform strategic decisions, and deliver measurable value for clients across the healthcare marketing landscape.
As a Data Platform Automation Engineer, you will design, develop, and implement scalable software and business process automation solutions that address complex business requirements and operational needs. Leveraging deep technical expertise and domain knowledge, you will drive platform efficiency, reliability, and innovation across data ecosystems. This role is responsible for promoting software quality best practices, establishing testing standards and automation frameworks, and executing comprehensive testing strategies to ensure high-performance, secure, and maintainable solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust data platform capabilities that enable business growth and operational excellence.
Essential Functions
- Designs/develops software solutions and business process solutions based on business needs and requirements using specialized domain knowledge and developed business expertise.
- Works at all layers of the application stack including front-end user interface and backend development.
- Analyzes and evaluates code issues and makes decisions within general parameters under broad supervision.
- Leads projects and programs within own organization with moderate complexity and scope.
- Focuses on software quality standards for all aspects of work; establishes advanced software test standards and methods and conducts complex software tests.
- Performs code reviews and optimization of existing queries.
- May assist in on-boarding new Software Engineers to the team
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Python development experience
- Strong experience in building productionized AI tools/pipelines for data validation, anomaly detection, or automated reporting
- SQL (complex queries, stored procedures)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Snowflake
- Experience in healthcare/pharmaceutical data
- Experience with Orchestration tools (ex Automic)

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $92,600.00 - $231,600.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
