PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs grinding of oilfield choke parts using air tools.
- Performs blasting for oilfield choke parts using a cabinet blaster.
- Sets up cabinet blaster and preps surfaces to be blasted.
- Monitors blasting and inspects individual items to verify quality.
- Under the direction of a supervisor and/or experienced manufacturing employees, responsible for various tasks including but not limited to cleaning, sweeping, and organizing.
- Aides other areas, specifically Assembly, Testing, Shipping, and Weld Shop.
- Communicates with manufacturing employees, supervisors, Production Control, Quality, and other shop personnel as it relates to the job.
- Operates a forklift and lifting devices for movement of parts as needed.
- Use air & electrical tools as it relates to the job i.e., die grinder, bench grinder, angle grinder.
- Carry out job requirements in accordance with established procedures and specifications.
- Responsible for and the authority to maintain and promote a safe working environment in accordance with the appropriate HSE procedure(s).
- Participate in actions which promote a safety and quality culture within NOV.
- Comply with all NOV Company and Quality, Health Safety Environmental polices & procedures
- Ensure compliance of the company’s overall objectives.
- Other duties as assigned by Manufacturing Supervisor and/or Manufacturing Manager and/or Plant Manager.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- 6 months in a manufacturing atmosphere preferred.
- Prior forklift and lifting device operation experience a plus.
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Must be able to comprehend instructions.
- Legible writing skills are preferred.
- Candidates must be able to execute assigned duties with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job.
- Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
- Must be able to stand and work in adverse conditions (outside in all types of weather or inside in a manufacturing environment) for a minimum of 8 hours.
- Must be able to use simple measuring instruments (tape measure, caliper, etc.).
- Must be able to do extensive walking, bending, stooping, and moderate to heavy lifting. Lifting up to 50lbs occasionally with assistance.
- Must be able to manually work multiple levers and knobs in association with applicable machines or equipment.
