RemoteFull-timePosted Jul 28, 2026

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to act as the vital "glue" between our Python Application Development team and our core Operations team. In this role, you will champion the DevOps culture, ensuring smooth, automated, and secure deployments of our Python applications onto our Red Hat OpenShift platform.
You will translate developer needs into scalable infrastructure solutions and ensure the Operations team has the visibility, stability, and runbooks they require. If you are passionate about containerization, pipeline automation, and breaking down silos between Dev and Ops, this is the role for you.

What you will do:

Release Governance & Pipeline Automation

• Create Automation Pipelines: Architect, build, and maintain end-to-end CI/CD automation pipelines (e.g., via Jenkins, GitLab CI, Tekton, or ArgoCD) specifically tailored for Python-based web applications and microservices..
• Execute & Handle Releases: Take ownership of the deployment lifecycle. Execute, manage, and monitor web application releases into staging and production environments, ensuring zero-downtime deployments..
• Govern the Release Process: Act as the gatekeeper for production. Define, enforce, and govern release standards, ensuring all code passes necessary quality gates, security scans, and compliance checks before deployment..
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Helm and/or kustomize (Infrastructure as Code)..
• Securely handle secrets in a secrets vault like Hashicorp Vault..
Collaboration & "Glue" Duties

• Act as the primary technical liaison bridging the gap between Python developers and the IT Operations team..
• Guide developers on cloud-native best practices, containerization (Docker/Podman), and optimal ways to build Python applications (WSGI/ASGI, dependency management) for OpenShift..
• Work with Operations to ensure that developer tooling and deployment processes align with infrastructure stability and security requirements..
OpenShift & Infrastructure Management

• Manage, configure, and optimize application deployments on Red Hat OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters..
• Ensure high availability, resource optimization, scaling, and fault tolerance of the application platform..
Monitoring, Logging & Incident Response

• Implement comprehensive monitoring and observability for both the OpenShift platform and the Python applications (using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, or Datadog)..
• Set up centralized logging and tracing (e.g., ELK/EFK stack, Jaeger) to help developers quickly debug production issues..
• Partner with Ops during incident response, providing deep application-level context and assisting with root cause analysis..

What you will bring:

• Experience: 3+ years in a DevOps, Release Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role..
• Release Management: Demonstrated experience governing, handling, and executing complex web application releases in a fast-paced environment..
• Automation/CI-CD: Proven track record of creating from scratch and maintaining robust automated CI/CD pipelines..
• Container Orchestration: Strong, hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes (deployments, configmaps, routes, persistent volumes)..
• Python Ecosystem: Solid understanding of Python development paradigms, dependency management (Pip, Poetry), and web frameworks (FastAPI, Django, Flask). You must understand how Python web apps run in production..
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, governance, and negotiation skills in English. You must be able to enforce release standards while maintaining a collaborative relationship between Dev and Ops..

Preferred Qualifications:

• Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift (Administration or Application Development)..
• Experience with GitOps methodologies (e.g., ArgoCD) for automated release handling..
• Scripting proficiency in Python and Bash to further automate operational and release tasks..
