Lead Project Engineer
As an auxiliary power unit (APU) Lead Project Engineer here at Honeywell, you will coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams, foster collaboration and ensuring effective project coordination.
You will report directly to our Sr. Program Engineering Manager, and you’ll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will impact the successful execution and delivery of engineering projects, driving operational excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage APU development projects from initiation to completion
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders
- Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
- Coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
- Ensure an airtight change management process
- Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project delivery
- Provide technical guidance and support to project team members
- Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders both internal and external
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering
- 8+ years of experience in project engineering or related roles
- Proven track record of successfully delivering engineering projects on time and within budget
- Strong leadership and project management skills with expertise in risk management and problem-solving
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
- Passion for innovation and continuous learning
WE VALUE
- Master’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering
- Gas turbine engine development, testing and analysis experience
- Gas turbine engine aircraft installation development, testing and analysis experience
- Model based system engineering experience including requirements management in DOORS Next
